Pre-Game Report 11/8 Inactives Update

From Jacksonville, Florida

11:30 a.m. CST – Some of the early morning clouds are now gone and it’s a high sky, with game-time temperature expected to reach 78 degrees. There is a strong enough wind on the field to ruffle pant legs.

11:05 a.m. CST – The Chiefs are in their white uniform tops, which is a surprise given the sunshine and warm temps today in north Florida. Usually teams in Florida like to have their opponents wearing a dark colored jersey, while they were their whites.  The Jaguars will be in their teal tops.

11:00 a.m. CST – Andy Alleman will start at RG in place of Mike Goff, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. Goff apparently will dress and be available in an emergency, but Alleman gets the start, his first with the Chiefs. In the starting lineup for Bobby Wade at wide receiver is Mark Bradley.

10:55 a.m. CST – Working on punt returns in the pre-game warmup are RB Dantrell Savage and CB Maurice Leggett. On the kickoff returns are RB Jamaal Charles, WR Terrance Copper and WR Lance Long.

10:45 a.m. CST – K Ryan Succop was showing his strong leg in pre-game warmups, hitting from 55 yards towards the south end zone and 50 yards to the north end of the stadium. The wind is gusty, but appears to be blowing to the south inside the stadium, where the ribbons on the uprights are moving in that direction.

10:35 a.m. CST – The question after the inactives have been announced is who will return punts for the Chiefs. With Bobby Wade inactive and Bobby Engram released on Saturday, it would appear that duty will fall to CB Maurice Leggett or possibly RB Dantrell Savage.

10:30 a.m. CST – Game-day inactives for the Chiefs against Jacksonville are FS Jon McGraw, TE Brad Cottam, TE Jake O’Connell, WR Bobby Wade, LB Pierre Walters, CB Donald Washington and OT Ikechuku Ndukwe.  Matt Gutierrez is the inactive third quarterback. The surprise is Wade, who apparently is a healthy scratch.

10:30 a.m. CST – Game-day inactives for the Jaguars against the Chiefs are WR Tiquan Underwood, S Anthony Smith, CB Brian Witherspoon, LB Adam Seward, DT Derek Landri, OL Maurice Williams, OT Jordan Black and DT Greg Peterson. Jacksonville has only two quarterbacks on their roster, starter David Garrard and backup Luke McCown.

10:00 a.m. CST – Chiefs offense going through it’s normal pre-pre-game warmup. TEs Brad Cottam and Jake O’Connell are not taking part, an early indication they will be inactive. Also, not taking part is WR Bobby Wade. He’s on the field, but is not dressed as if he’s going to play.  WR Chris Chambers is working in the drill and it looks like he will be active. Game-day inactives coming at the bottom of the hour.

9:40 a.m. CST – There will be a pre-game flyover at the national anthem by a B-2 bomber flying out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Knoster, Missouri. They are part of the 509th Bomb Wing, 13th Squadron, a group that has plenty of Chiefs fans.

9:30 a.m. CST – Morning weather in north Florida is pleasant, with mostly sunny skies, a light wind and temperatures in the low 70s. There is a slight chance of rain this afternoon, and game-time temperature expected to be in the high 70s.

Shocked Wade is inactive today. That must mean Salvage will return punts. Long will be in the slot and Chambers will possibly be #2 wide receiver. I probably would’ve made Copper an inactive but he must be doing preety decent as a special teams player. Chiefs got an opportunity to beat these guys. Cassell could have his best game this season today. Jags are worse than us getting sacks. Matter of fact they have less sacks than us on the season. So everybody looking at Charles to have a big game I’m expecting one from Cassell.

people, cassel gets DESTROYED if he holds it longer than 2 seconds…he still didnt turn it over, but did miss a few throws

wade was inactive because long can go in and catch 8 balls, suck on that long haters

chambers, 2 td’s, also why wade was inactive, and is yet another example of a team (SD) dumping a guy, and KC picks em up and he becomes a top reciever…heck, long was on the cards PS!

other note, 10/53 between charles/smith on the ground…LJ averages 2.7, they combined 5.3…almost twice as effective, and better recieving, that screen over the middle woulve been 6 with a right guard that blocks. I will say though that if haley calls another shotgun draw on third down inside the 5 ill throw my remote
