Chiefs Announce Personnel Department Additions

Early in the week, Scott Pioli was cleaning house in the Chiefs personnel department.

On Friday, the team announced additions to the scouting area.

First, Ray Famer has been retained as the team’s director of pro personnel. Two area scouts were retained as well from the previous staff: former Chiefs WR Willie Davis and Terry Delp.

Promoted from the position of assistant in the pro personnel to area scout on the college side was Rod Perry.

Added as the director of college scouting is Phil Emery, who has spent the last five years with the Atlanta Falcons. Before that he did seven years with the Chicago Bears.

Added as a regional scout was Jim Nagy, who worked seven years as a scout for the Patriots. He’s been on site at Arrowhead Stadium for the last several months.

There were two new additions to the group of area scouts who will join Davis, Delp and Perry: Jay Muraco and Pat Sperduto.

Muraco spent the last nine seasons with the Patriots as the college scouting coordinator. He’s also worked for the personnel departments with the Chargers, Browns and Eagles. Before moving to New England in 2000 to join Pioli and Bill Belichick in their first year with the team he worked in Philadelphia.

Sperduto coached with Pioli back in 1991 at Murray State. He’s played and coached in the Arena Football League, his most recent stint was three years as head coach of the Nashville Kats. He’s also worked for the Tennessee Titans personnel department.

All I can say is well it cant hurt after viewing our past draft classes . Herm in my opinion improved our draft but looking at Herms drafts of the Jets haven’t showed much .As in Washington change is good at least for me .

I just have to say I like the way things are shaping up. Sure I’d done things differently depending on who I was working with and the direction they wanted to go. Not real sure about the two old LB’s but they are smart football guys who could lead the Defense so I’ll go with it. Actually like the draft given they picked up this Center from Cinncy he’ll be ok has lots of potential. I could take shots at this or that but I’ll just wait and see what they can accomplish. They have a tough road playing the entire NFC East back to back in the 1st of the season, be lucky to go 2-2 on that stretch. Open at Ravens, host Oakland second and host SanDiego they will definately need a bye week after those 7 games heck I’ll be happy if they are 3-4. Anyway just saying before we get too negative and I’m not saying your not a Chiefs fan for being negative but we haven’t even got to camp and some sound as if they are ready to get rid of Pioli/Hayley already?

    “Go Chiefs”

On second thought scratch that: change is not good in this case as Pioli and Hailey be the result. It will be a long, bad season for my Chiefs in 2009.

jt, just curious this team hasn’t played a game together, yet your ready to say Pioli / Haley have failed? How have you came to this conclusion?

  • May 2, 2009  - jt says:

The conclusion wasn’t mine Chris just a person or as i well call mini me stirring the pot. My guess its the one that has so many blogs on here he is running out of blog names . Identity theft is of course against the law & it wouldn’t be hard to trace it back to the person that is doing it .So if it continues all of us on here should contact Bob for the name of that person.

I’m sure the author knows who is who.

Just to try and defeat the lame attempt by the perp to confuse people, I am anonymous, the one that is critacal of Hunt, the author of this blog, Peterson, Herm and anyone else that wants to try and spread Stupidity. I also support Pioli and Haley until the time comes that they prove themselves unworthy. Anyone posting as anonymous that says anything different is a fraud! Not that it’s difficult to tell, as the perp is, ummm should we say an F’n babosa!
