You call this work?

From Mobile, Alabama

Here’s visible proof that your intrepid Internet scribe is actually working at the Senior Bowl and not just in a bathrobe in the basement of mom and dad’s house with a working modem.

That’s South team quarterback Tyler Wilson from the University of Arkansas in the foreground, answering a question from the Action News folks at Alabama’s Channel 13. The big headed guy in the background looking stylish in the shades is our staff on site at Ladd Peebles Stadium enjoying the sunshine in sweet home Alabama.

We’ll have plenty of what Wilson had to say in the coming weeks – he’s a consideration as a Chiefs draft choice, except for that No. 1 selection.

Bob …I’am going out on a limb here.QB Wilson well be the Chiefs No1.If the Chiefs take a QB 1st over all. Some times in life you have a feeling. That’s mine… could be way off.No guts,no glory.

We can see the stress of the job the past couple years has loaded much more grey into that head of hair than the last picture we saw. It barely made it into the teens where I spent my day today. That’s gotta be a tough job where you are. Take care Bob and enjoy the sun.

j.t. I don’t see Wilson being selected first overall by the Chiefs, but that’s just me. I’ve been wrong once or twice before. Just ask my wife.

I’ll go out on a limb. AR/JD will find a veteran stop gap and draft Wilson in the 2nd round.
Unless they trade a 2nd or 3rd for Matt Flynn.

Well when I 1st starting thinking of the draft it was Geno. After watching Geno play in his bowl game …I wasn’t impress. Then he didn’t play in this N/S game.I got to thinking, what does he have to hide. When we have a H/O/F QB he shows up when the game is on the line.

I’m not sure Geno Smith is the answer either j.t. but I did watch him play throughout his entire career and think he’s a better QB than many are giving him credit for. I will say this. I think he has the ability to have as long and distinguished a career in the NFL as any of the others I’ve seen or heard mentioned.

As for playing in the all star games that’s a decision many players have to make and decide what the advantages are versus the disadvantages. Time will tell but I’ll put my trust in Reid, Dorsey and the rest of the organization to make a good decision.

I hear Kirwin report on his Sirius show that Wilson was the best, by far, of any QB at the Sr Bowl. Kirwin was particularly impressed with Wilson’s passing accuracy where he saw him throw about 10 passes on a down and out perfectly placed in a tiny window. “Can he do it in a game”?, was the next comment.

As to Geno Smith, I will admit to only having seen him play in two TV games which is way too small a sampling to offer any evidence of his abilities pro or con. But, in those two games, Geno was not impressive.

I do feel a lot more confident going into draft with Dorsey/Reid doing the evaluating of talent as opposed to Pioli, the GM bust! I think the new evaluators will sort it out and get the picks right this time, including the QB issue.

Assuming they take another player at one, which I think they will, they may need to trade up to the lower part of the 1st round to get Wilson, Smith, or whoever they think is the best QB. I wouldn’t want to risk him not being available at the 34th pick. I would think it might just take a 4th rounder to move up a few slots into the 1st round. As Cy indicated, this could all change if they have to use their 2nd rounder to get a veteran QB.

I also trust that Dorsey/Reid will make the right decisions.

please people, get off that Matt Flynn bandwagon.
what have he done in his career ? beside one good game again the lowly Loins D and people look at him like the next great an 2nd or 3rd for him ? how about use the 2rd (34th) to take a shot and draft a college QB ! it could not get any worste than one game wonder.
