Dear Bob,
Given Mr. Pioli's and Mr. Hunt's latest view on free agency can we assume that they will NOT sign players that will upgrade our starting lineup?
When does being aggressive equate to reckless, idiotic spending? There will be very few players who are capable of coming in and winning a job. To get those players you have to be aggressive-Que Sera Sera.

Do you think last year's free agency model is effective??? They wiffed more than Dave Kingman at bat. I hope they'll sign a few players that can contribute as starters, not just as traning camp fodder.
To me the Chiefs need 12 positions to upgrade:
    1. Starting WR
    2. Starting LG
    3. Starting C
    4. Kick REturner/3rd receiver
    5. Bruising RB to share duties with JC
    6. A FB that's an upgrade to MC
    7. A NT to stop the run
    8. Another pass rusher from the LB
    9. An inside LB that is stouter than what we have
    10. A 3rd CB
    11. A starting SS
    12. A situational TE with speed and hands

Brees is just one more reason our Chiefs havn't made the show. I was shock that Peterson didn't go after him after the Chargers let him go.Yes he was hurt but he sure played well for the bolts.Do you think now we should have?

I don't check out this site during the off season, so someone else might have suggested this already. How far back can you go and find Chiefs' draft picks on the winning Superbowl team? This year Fujita, last year Fox, Mitchell the year before. How far back do they stretch?
Always remember Carl pointing out how many of the organizations picks were still in the league, even if they were elsewhere. Not really impressed with the drafting of players for the other teams in the league. Hopefully Pioli and scouts will do better.

I too love the fact that Fujita has a ring. I always thought he was a good player... Gunther knows a lot, but as I said before, I think the game has passed him by... He's too stubborn about how to get what he wants done rather than maximizing what he has.

Marty deserves the love he's getting. But, Sean Payton did what Marty couldn't do. The Saints played to win and didn't play "not to lose". Since nearly everyone crowned the Colts as Champions before the game was played (including me), the Saints had nothing to lose.

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints.

Go CHIEFS!

I am so glad the New Orleans Saints beat the Colts because during the whole postseason all the media was giving all the love to Favre and Manning. Drew Brees is a great quarterback and Marty was right about him . To me he is better than Rivers and he was better than Manning yesterday. He is well on his way in going into the elite legends at his position. Look what the Saints did to the Vikings and the Colts. This underdog team to the media sent the media two favorite flavors home leaving a bad taste in the medias and naysayers mouths . I love it!!!!!

"AJ Smith, not so much."

Yeah let's see...Marty's replacement at HC hasn't got them to the Super Bowl much less a Super Bowl title...and we see the result on Brees. Let's hope our Front office and Front Line cooperate and never let personal pride/ego/loyalties override smart decision-making.

Your right, Marty got the game ball after Jets beat the Chargers, he seen Brees succeed his highest expectations, and he was indited into the Mo. Hall of Fame this year. Congrats to Marty this year!

Lots of folks to be happy for after the game, but the person I may be most happy for.... Marty Schotenhimer!

Not only was his steadfast support of Brees vindicated, it's also the first time in his career he threw his saddle on the Right QB, (ah hem, Gerbac over Gannon?)^5 Marty! You were right about Brees! AJ Smith, not so much.

That onside kick call might has been the dumbest call in a Super Bowl ever..... A call Todd Haley would have made....:-) And it actually ended up being the foundation of championship instead of practically closing the game... well the winner is always right!

Yeah, how about that onside kick to start the second half? Sean Payton has got some balls...no doubt.

Glad the Saints won. Good for them...and good for New Orleans.

I must admit, though...that the whole "who dat?" thing is annoying. I hope when the Chiefs finally reach the Big Game...we don't have some silly "tag line" that follows us there.

I'm glad they Won and Fujita can look Gunther up and show him the Ring that Gun said would never happen because he thought Fujita would never make it in the NFL like a few other LB's he canned that are still starters and playing in the NFL.

I can see the CHIEFS doing this in 2-3 years!
