Top 100 Prospects – No. 97 RB Isaiah Pead

Growing up on the east side of Columbus, Ohio, Isaiah Pead dreamed of wearing the crimson and gray of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

“From the time I understood what football was about and started playing as a little guy, I dreamed of running out of the Ohio State locker room,” Pead said.

Pead grew up to be a heckuva football player. At Eastmoor Academy he broke the school records set much earlier by an Ohio State great, RB Archie Griffin. But even though he was earning all-state honors in Ohio, Pead couldn’t stir up much interest from the Buckeyes. There were a dozen scholarship offers at the end and none from The Ohio State University.

That led him to sign with the University of Cincinnati where he had one of the best careers in school history for a running back and was part of three different conference championship teams that went to BCS bowl games.

And now he’s ready to continue that career in the NFL where he’s one of the most under-rated players in the 2012 draft. Here’s a look at Isaiah Pead.
