Top 100 Prospects – No. 94 DT Mike Martin

“Everything he does, he’s good at. Everything he touched turned to gold.”

Those are the words of Mike Martin’s mother Theresa as she recounted what her son has gotten done in his 21 years.

As a teenager, he was so good at training dogs, he was just a few American Kennel Club points away from earning his way to the Westminster Dog Show. With limited lessons, he learned how to play the saxophone and was part of the school orchestra.

Martin hated wrestling after his first attempts on the mat, but went on to win back-to-back state heavyweight. He won back to back shot put titles in high school.

But it was football where Martin excelled. He was a three-year starter in high school at Detroit Catholic Central and for three years at Michigan. Now, he prepares for the NFL Draft and the next step in his life, where Mom is convinced he will be successful once again. Here’s Martin’s story.
