There Was A Jayhawker In The House

From Indianapolis, Indiana

Coach of the Green Bay Packers Mike McCarthy was in the NFL Scouting Combine media center on Friday.

Was the one time Chiefs assistant sporting the green and gold of the Packers? Figured he would be wearing maybe something with a cheesehead logo or something that said Wisconsin.

Instead, he was wearing a Kansas Jayhawks shirt.

McCarthy’s daughter attends KU, so the coach must figure if he’s not following his Baker Wildcats , then he’s going to support his money. There’s no question in his mind what team was going to win Saturday’s game between KU and MU, in what might possibly be the last edition of the Border War.

“No way KU loses this one,” McCarthy said.

Sadly, there’s only one other Jayhawker walking the halls of Lucas Oil Stadium – LB Steven Johnson. He’s the only Kansas football player taking part in the Combine.

No player from Kansas State or Northwest Missouri State was on the invitation list. From Missouri there are four Tigers: TE Michael Egnew, DL Dom Hamilton, WR Jerrell Jackson and DB Jacquies Smith.
