The Cardinals are Coming

The Chiefs made it official on Thursday, announcing that they’ll practice with the Arizona Cardinals during training camp at Missouri Western State University this August.

The Cardinals will be in St. Joseph the week of August 5th. On that Sunday, Arizona will play in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. They’ll travel to St. Joe the next day. On Friday of that week, the Chiefs and Cardinals play at Arrowhead Stadium. No practice details were announced, but it’s likely both teams will practice on Tuesday, August 7th and Wednesday, August 8th. There’s a chance Thursday, August 9th may be a third practice, but given that it’s the day before the pre-season game, it’s likely both teams will hold individual workouts.

The visitors from the desert will dress at the school’s Baker Family Fitness Center, next door to Spratt Stadium where they will hold their individual practice sessions. The team will stay in Griffon Hall, which is next to Scanlon Hall, where the Chiefs stay during their time in camp.

It’s the first time that another NFL team has traveled to western half of the state to practice against the Chiefs. It was a common part of training camp for the team when they worked in River Falls, Wisconsin, as they practiced against New Orleans and Minnesota at various times.

Arizona is led by All-Pro WR Larry Fitzgerald and DT Darnell Dockett and last year’s rookie standout CB Patrick Peterson.
