Gets me thinking, if Tank is the 3-4 NT, and Dorsey gets dealt, heck even if he doesnt...maybe even though its a diff system, Tank is the Sapp to Curry's Derrick Brooks....

Just a thought. they would push each other etc.

Not sure where in my posts I neglected to mention defense anonymous. Uninformed posters who jump to irrational conclusions about the team or their fellow posters sound like a broken record to me!

I did mention that if the Steelers were in fact shopping Larry Foote that he might be a good fit. I also didn't totally disregard the drafting of Jackson either, I just don't like him at pick 3. So there, I've just readdressed the defense for now.

I'd imagine that KC will spend at least half of their picks on the defensive side of the ball. Let's not also forget that now that our holdovers from last year actually have to PRACTICE HARD, they might be greatly improved. A lot of high draft picks have gone to the defensive side during the Herm era. Hali, Pollard, Turk, Tank, Dorsey, Flowers, and Morgan. Throw in Derrick Johnson from 2005 and you've got three 1sts, three 2nds, and three 3rds that have been used in building our defense. Perhaps they will play better in a new scheme and under different coaches.

Also, perhaps they'll make a trade for Peppers, or pick up Jason Taylor, or something else no one has even thought of yet. Right now, I'm just dealing in what's being reported, and doing my part in contributing to the forum.

Also, I think Parrish plus a 6th is the MOST we'd get if we dealt Waters to Buffalo. He's getting older guys. He's not worth a 2nd or a 3rd straight up; especially not if Parrish is involved. Just my opinion, but I'm trying to be realistic. If Pioli gets better than what I'm expecting, I'll be thrilled, but I'm not setting myself up to be disappointed either.

Has anyone seen the rumor we are shopping Glenn Dorsey to Atlanta for their first and second this year? If that happens it might make Raji a fit at number 3, if we can't trade out.

Hey colby?!
When would you suggest the Chiefs acquire any one for the defense, or should the Chiefs just ignore that side of the ball?

All offense all the time, sound like a broken record!

I just don't see us taking Tyson Jackson at three. You would have to give him guarnteed money of 30MM or so. I would definitely rather take Monroe, if we don't take Curry. I feel they both are much safer picks at three. If we trade down, I guess I would be okay with Jackson. I like the possible trade of Waters for Parrish. I agree with SG that we should get at least a 3rd rounder as well from Buffalo.

Bill Williamson might need to mention that KC better be asking for a 2nd or 3rd rounder plus Roscoe P. (Coltrane) Parrish in exchange for our pro-bowl guard.

Of course, one now has to consider with concern rumoers concerning all thought processes of the new brain trust.

1030 says:

i hate when people say a spot is too high for a guy...if a guy can play then take him it doesn't matter where

I agree with you 1030. However, the draft is basically one big poker game for personnel men. I feel like taking Jackson at 3 would be like going all in with 4 aces when there's still two cards left to be flipped. A smart player baits others in slowly and maximizes his return on a great hand. With a player like Jackson, it's probably smart to try to trade down first, get some extra compensation, THEN nab him.

I think Pioli knows how to play this game......

You know Scott, Arizona is one of the few teams that might like the idea of getting LJ. Our RB coach from last year has the position in Arizona now: Curtis Modkins. He's familiar with LJ so perhaps he puts in a good word. Also, since Arizona lost JJ Arrington, they could use a good scat back/KR. Dantrell Savage could be a possibility there as well.

"...and maybe some light, additional compensation."

Throw in LJ!

Parrish coming here would be cool. That would solve the return game...and then some.

Yet ANOTHER thing from the web. The Steelers are shopping ILB Larry Foote. He's an experienced 3-4 LB who comes from a winning team. He might look good in Red and Gold!

A couple of quick tidbits from ESPN.

Kiper now has KC taking Tyson Jackson at 3. Ugh is all I could say about that. Jackson would appear to be a good fit, but 3 seems about 6 spots too high for him.

Bill Williamson must be reading my posts as he is now reporting that a Brian Waters to Buffalo for WR Roscoe Parrish trade would make sense for both sides.

Finally, and this is the biggie, Arizona has lowered it's asking price for Boldin to a 2nd rounder and maybe some light, additional compensation. Perhaps that 2nd we got for Tony will be the key in acquiring Boldin AND keeping us at pick 3 in the 1st round.

How freaking exciting! I'd love to know what's going on at Arrowhead right now!

Monroe makes the most sense...or Jason Smith should St Louis take Monroe. If Cassel has great protection, he can still make this offense work. Plus, LJ can still be dangerous if he has a good line in front of him. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Yeah I'm doubting more and more that we will not get a hold of Curry for this draft and the lions will fall back on him rather than getting a holdout from stafford.

I think that seriously curry is the best bet. learning to pass rush i'm sure is not that hard... i mean albert learned to play left tackle so see...

I really hope we get curry now.. did you guys see the thing on him helping a cancer patient. He's having a kid from st judes hospital come with him to the draft this guy seems to have great character.

Against all odds, I still think Pioli will find a deal or way to trade out of the #3 overall pick. How far down he goes or can go is another issue.

However, if/when that happens Tank and Albert won't be seeing their pal on the Chief's roster.

Could very well be one of those guys coming here.

Or not.

We could really use them both, actually.

In a little over 24 hours...we'll know.
