Romeo Loves RG3

From Indianapolis, Indiana

Don’t say anything to Rosemary Crennel but her husband fell in love Friday night.

The object of the Chiefs head coach’s newest infatuation? Heisman Trophy winning QB Robert Griffin III.

The Chiefs met Friday night with the three top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class – Stanford’s Andrew Luck, Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill and Griffin. They also had a visit with Arizona State’s Brock Osweiler.

All were impressive according to Crennel. But none as much as Griffin. In a short 15-minute period allowed for the formal interviews with players, Crennel was smitten.

“It went very well last night; we only had 15 minutes and that goes pretty quickly when you are talking to an entertaining young man like he is,” Crennel said. “He is very sharp. He is well thought out. He gives great answers. We could have talked to him for an hour. But in the 15 minutes we had we came away very impressed with him.

“That was special.”

Is Griffin the type of player that a team simply decides it has to have and goes and gets him?

“He’s the type of person that you go and get,” Crennel said. “Not only was he sharp talking about football, he was sharp talking about life. He’s an Army Brat like I was an Army Brat, so there is a special connection there.”

Was there enough of a connection that Crennel is twisting GM Scott Pioli’s arm to move up in the draft and get Griffin?

“I don’t have to twist his arm, he was equally impressed,” Crennel said.

Bob, I was impressed with your reporting and Romeo’s comments. If the Chiefs really, really want RG III they will figure out a way to trade up with St. Louis.

β€œHe’s the type of person that you go and get”, that statement right there sounds like it is a smokescreen. With all the fans wanting KC to trade up for RG3, I think it is just there to get the fans talking. Now if somehow Griffin falls to 5 or later, I could see KC try and trade up for him but no way they move up to #2 overall imo…

RG3 will be LONG gone by #5. He’s going #2, and the Chiefs should make every effort to move up to #2 and get him.

Like i said before if they can offer Bowe, 11th pick in 1st rd and maybe 2nd or 3rd pick thats enough to get 2nd pick in the draft

    Uh, no, not even close.

Wishful thinking will not improve the Chiefs, geeze.

Griffin may be Miss Right, but Peyton is Miss Right Now!

Rather than bantering around what it would take to truly move up to the #2 spot would some one (maybe Bob) please give his opinion as to “what it would take” to be in that #2 spot????? Then we would know if it is just too expensive or not. As far as giving up Bowe, I would just say NO to that. How about Tyson Jackson???? I like that idea alot better.

Getting rid of Bowe is a really dumb idea!
