Pre-Game Report 1/3 Inactives Update

From Invesco Field, Denver

2:15 p.m. CST – Out handling kickoffs are Terrence Copper, Quinten Lawrence and Javarris Williams.

2:05 p.m. CST – Out for early kicking, Ryan Succop was good from 51 yards kicking towards the north goal posts. He tried from 58 yards but missed by about a yard. Kicking towards the south goal posts – in this case into the wind – Succop was solid from 52 yards in and actually got a 56-yarder that bounced off the crossbar and through.

1:55 p.m. CST – There will be no punting battle between the Colquitt brothers, as Dustin Colquitt’s younger brother Britton is one of the Broncos gameday inactive players. Denver signed Colquitt this week off the Dolphins practice squad, largely with the idea of tying him up for the ’10 season.

1:50 p.m. CST – Game-day inactive players for the Chiefs are WR Lance Long, S Reshard Langford, G Andy Alleman, G Darryl Harris, DE Dion Gales, TE Sean Ryan and OLB Pierre Walters. The inactive third QB is Matt Gutierrez.

1:50 p.m. CST – Game-day inactive players for the Broncos are P Britton Colquitt, WR Brandon Marshall, WR Eddie Royal, CB Tony Carter, RB LaMont Jordan, DL Chis Baker and TE Tony Scheffler. The inactive third QB is Tom Brandstater.

1:40 p.m. CST - There are some interesting decisions to be made today on inactive players for the Chiefs. Only G Andy Alleman is out because of injury, so Todd Haley and staff will have to find another six players to sit down for this game. There’s been so much shuffling in the last month, there are no longer any automatic selections for the game-day inactive list.

1:30 p.m. CST – QBs Matt Cassel and Matt Gutierrez chatting with former Patriots teammate Jabar Gaffney at the 30-yard line.

1:25 p.m. CST – Out early for some work are OLB Tamba Hali and DE Tyson Jackson, working with coaching intern Anthony Pleasant on pass rush moves. Jackson is still searching for the first sack of his rookie season.

1:15 p.m. CST – The Broncos are out for some early throwing as well, but they are light when it comes to receivers. The only WRs on the roster available for today’s game are Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Lloyd and Brandon Stokely. The only TEs are Daniel Graham and Richard Quinn. WR Matthew Willis was added Saturday, promoted from the practice squad.

1:05 p.m. CST – The Chiefs quarterbacks and receivers are out for their normal pre-pre-game throwing session, and all hands are accounted for, including running backs and tight ends. Working with them is OLB Mike Vrabel.

12:45 p.m. CST – Weather-wise things are a lot nicer here in Denver than back in Kansas City and environs. Current temperature is 37 degrees. Skies are mostly cloudy, although the sun has peeked out a time or two. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow. Winds are out of the east between 3 and 6 mph. All-in-all a better day to play in Denver than Kansas City.

Enjoyable game. Do not know where this offense came from but glad it finally showed up. Likewise, DJ was awfully good for a guy who does not play much. Maybe Pendergast kept his job, if he is smart enough to get DJ on the field in 2010. Charles wiping out LJ record was appreciated, now we can start to forget him.

Yea, one thing though is how come Haley wasn’t starting DJ at LB the entire season?

arrowhead, no1 wants 2 talk about DJ lets talk about #53! Nice job Chiefs…enjoyed this game from start 2 finish. DJ showed all the haters that he is a dominant player as well as Charles and Flowers. I think this game alone can hold me over till next year….Haley coached a helluva game(minus not giving Charles the ball on the goaline)….Im curious 2 see how Pioli/Haley build off this current team. Clearly Charles and DJ proved that they deserved 2 start from day 1.
