Pre-Game: Eagles-Chiefs

From Arrowhead Stadium

6:30 p.m. CDT — RT Ryan O’Callaghan was not visible on the field in pre-game warmups, so expect Barry Richardson to start.

6:05 p.m. CDT — Right now, the Chiefs say they expect only two players not to dress for tonight’s game: CB Maurice Leggett (neck) and G Darryl Harris (knee). We’ll wait and see what happens with RT Ryan O”Callaghan, who is not expected to play tonight because of a groin injury suffered in practice on Tuesday.

6:00 p.m. CDT — Eagles will not dress six players this evening because of various injuries: CB David Pender, LB Keenan Clayton, C Jamaal Jackson, DE Juqua Parker, TE Cornelius Ingram and DE Victor Abiamiri.

5:55 p.m. CDT — Kicking towards the east goal post, K Ryan Succop was successful on all his FG attempts, including one from 51 yards.

5:51 p.m. CDT — In the northwest corner of the playing field, working in the shadow of the end zone, defensive line coach Anthony Pleasant is working with DEs Glenn Dorsey, Wallace Gilberry and Tyson Jackson. They are working hard at coming out of their position at the snap and delivering a blow to the blocker.

5:49 p.m. CDT — Kicking towards the east goal posts, Philly K David Akers hit a 60-yard field goal with no problem.

5:45 p.m. CDT — ILB Derrick Johnson is out by himself, working hard on his stance and getting out of this stance on the snap of the ball.

5:35 p.m. CDT — While the game will not be blacked out in the Kansas City area, it’s far from a sellout. Early traffic is still moving into the Sports Complex with no problems. I-70 is running pretty smooth, and I-435 from the north is still moving well. We can provide these traffic updates thanks to the new Arrowhead press box, which is at the top of the stadium and provides clear views of the freeways and access. Look out Johnny Rowlands!

5:30 p.m. CDT ā€“ OLB Mike Vrabel on the field talking with his old teammate CB Asante Samuel. Vrabel left the Patriots in ’09 in a trade and Samuel signed with the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent in ’08.

5:22 p.m. CDT ā€“ Brodie Croyle is not throwing in the warm-up session and apparently will not play again tonight. Croyle suffered a right arm injury in the pre-season opener against Atlanta and hasn’t been seen since.

5:20 p.m. CDT ā€“ Chiefs receivers and quarterbacks are out on the field for their normal pre-pre-game throwing session. OLB Mike Vrabel is working with the receivers in this one.

As much as I am a Brodie supporter — he may finally kill his career this year if he doesn’t make it to the field. He’s on a RFA contract … and will be a UFA next year (if there is anything like football in 2011).
Just wonder who will build on a QB (even as a backup) that can do it all but has not been available for three of his five year resume?
