Improved for the future? QB, DL, K. I’ll take that. Jackson wasn’t much of a reach by most accounts. 3 – 5 spots. Setting a record in futility for sacks kind of makes that okay.

Just keep in mind that the “patience” guys will be the only ones not frustrated over the next 2-3 years. We understand that the long term fix will take time. You “impatient” guys will be screaming and pulling your hair out, but it won’t make a difference. They won’t go back to the Peterson way of building a team of FA’s and wasting the draft.

Jimmy boy, man, are you full of it. I doubt even Pioli thought Jackson was the 3rd best college player. When a team drafts for need not the best athlete, most time they miss. And knowing what a bad team he was taking over, the 3rd best no matter what position would have been a victory. What has been improved for the future so far? You Patience guys are used to dreaming of the future that never show up. Give the rest of us a break, how about building a team.

attention those that claim pioli reached at 1 and 3 thinking he would be ok this year…it has NOTHING TO DO ABOUT THIS SEASON…he had PREVIOUS SCOUTS, he had to weed out the bad seeds that let out info, or just give bad info…

pioli took jackson and IMMEDIATELY said do NOT expect production year one…PERIOD…and to LOOK at what type of player Seymour was year one as a comparison.

makes me sick that people believe you bring in a coach/gm and you can take the SAME TRASH with a TOUGH SCHEDULE and win…you cant…you need your players, to buy into your system…

we just have no patience as a fan base anymore

I believe that after three years of Pioli / Haley we will see results on the playing field. I think we may see some new coaches and coordinators as well as many new players. This year is going to be pretty much a waste of time (as much as I detest that fact). I believe that by next year things should start looking better.

It seems like they don’t Look at what needs the most help , If I see Cassel out there with 5 guys blocking , that ain’t going to work ,in as much as someone always needs to be double teamed .
On blitz’s or a LB ect– shooting gaps .
Those are lost downs and they have way too many. PLUS-PLUS- Don’t need to count RB’s that are the leaders in that Dept.

ED you and I do not alway see the same thing. But is not basic tenant of being in the NFL to win games? Studebaker and Morgan as starter, why because they do not play? Someone on the Chief’s coaching staff believes they are not good enough. Other than you desire to see them on the field, why? You are cool with Haley’s approach so ride it out. Not by putting third stringers in to see what they can do. A waste of time and games.

Great point Colby. I would’ve like to see Haley bench Brown in favor of Morgan. He’s got speed which will prevent us from getting beat. I mean Rivers had a field day throwing at the much slower Brown and McGraw. Morgan played well in the preseason. That guy was flying around the place in those last few preseason games. Morgan should be at free safety and next year him and Page need to be the starters. I say cut Brown after the season and draft a couple of safeties late in the draft next yr.

Thunderchief give it time this is just yr one. I mean whoever thought Haley/Pioli would fix this team in one yr must not understand how bad of a team we were. Next yr expect this team to be leaps and bounds better than this yr. This team will compete for AFC west next yr. I was optimistic like any fan at the start of the season but reality set in and I realize the o-line is still horrible and we don’t have enough playmakers at the wideout position to make any difference in the passing game. We also lack another pass rusher opposite of Hali. I would like to see more of Studebaker was another guy flying around in the preseason. Lets get him in on at least 12 to 15 plays to see if it can translate to regular season.

For you consideration:

If you buy Pioli actually knows what he is doing, what went wrong (yes I am aware we are only halfway thru the season):

No rush into Free Agency – Why, because he planned to build on what was here at least for the first year.

Haley – Why, may not have been first choice but better than herm and not much else left out there. Made him keep Chan for continuity on offense.

Draft – Why, again was building on what was there, nobody special just guys who could fill spots. A reach with #1 and #3 but Pioli thought we could survive one year. Bad mistake.

Haley – What’s with this guy. Out of control during games. Fired Chan and the offense is really bad. Can this guy “rebuild” a team, doubt it but not the point. Loves TEs and WRs but cannot seem to inspire better play from anyone.

None of this is the truth but would fill in blanks as to why this team looks so bad and why guys like LJ whine and cry. This team may look worse if you are a player not just a fan.

I think we all think that 2-3 wins this season is definately a disappointment. but id say pioli is in like flin based on his career so far. scott is not going anywhere and im all aboard on that ship. now haley, i say if we have the same results next year, than he may or may not be here for a 3yd year. but they may give him 3 years. however, i dont see this being an issue. i guess im all up in their ass or something, but i have confidence THIS time, last time “herm” i didnt.

How long do you think Chiefs fans should have to wait for the rebuilding process to yield some results? Carl and Herm left after 2-3 years of rebuilding. Do we give Pioli and Haley 2-3 years? And if so what results do you think are acceptable for them both to stay around?

Colby, as usual, excellent comments on the Morgan play. On another issue or issues, why is it that the team and its personnel seem to be taking backward steps?

I know about injuries and their impact on the team. That’s a given. A given for any NFL team and its roster.

I’m more concerned about the personnel decisions on the team since the departure of CP and Herm. I mean, are the Chiefs any better or worse off than when Herm/CP were in power?

BETTER or WORSE? Herm/CP vs. Haley/SP ‘
Right now, I’d say it’s a coin flip.

At least Daniels knows the system. Question is, are they looking at him as a guy who can play some safety as well? I’m actually looking forward to Dejuan Morgan’s first start. Although he wasn’t a need when we drafted him, he was a solid value as some felt he was a first round talent. It would REALLY help us next year if he proves worthy of starting, although he’s probably better suited to play SS in the long term.
