Practice Report 1/1
From the Truman Sports Complex
The Chiefs first practice of 2010 was the final practice of the 2009 season and it went off indoor at the team’s facility this morning.
There were no indications of a lot of players recovering from the festivities of New Year’s Eve and Todd Haley said his team had a crisp workout in preparation for Sunday’s game in Denver.
G Andy Alleman was not at practice for the second day in a row and Haley said he would not play against the Broncos. CB Brandon Flowers (shoulder) and DE Alex Magee (hamstring) will be on the league injury reported listed as probable.
Haley said he would not approach this final game of the year any different than the previous 15. His objective is to win, not necessarily give young players who haven’t played much a chance to get game action, players like recently acquired S Reshard Langford.
“We’ll do the things necessary to win,” said Haley. “We’ve been forced by circumstances that some of those guys their play time and practice time has been accelerated. We will play and use the guys that give us the best chance to win.”

Reports are that Donkeys will only have 3 healthy wide recievers for the game, with not much experience. Chiefs need to play more man this week and concentrate on stopping the run. Donkey WR will not be able to rotate as much to stay fresh, and if there’s an injury at WR, we should be able to get away with playing more LBs and safeties, who would be stronger at stopping the run.
More bad news for Donkey recievers:
Denver receiver Eddie Royal is questionable to play against Kansas City. He was limited in practice the past two games with neck and head injuries. He didn’t play against Philadelphia. Royal may be needed against the Chiefs with Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall deactivated Sunday.
Denver tight end Daniel Graham is questionable with a knee injury. He was limited the past two days. Tight end Tony Scheffler is expected to be deactivated Sunday because of attitude issues, so Graham may be needed.
Who will Orton throw to? Many are critical of Haley’s handling of players here. Looks like McDaniels is utilizing the same Manual for player management.
Well, they still have Gaffney and Stokely.
Listen…if we can’t stop their running game, it won’t make a damn bit of difference who they have at WR.
Stuff the run. Period. That’s what will win games in NFL. We really haven’t been able to do it all season…and that’s the main reason why we only have 3 wins.
Mad Chief do not read “unflappable” some alex says the DL is very impressive. Must of missed your post on stopping the run, something we have not done well all year.
