NFL Combine – Defensive Tackle

As the NFL heads towards its annual Combine next week, the invitation list helps narrow the field on the top prospects in the country, both seniors and underclassmen. Over the last week we’ve been previewing and reviewing each position

Defensive tackle has become one of the most sought after defensive positions each year for NFL teams. There will be 27 players listed as defensive tackles at the NFL Combine and to a man they are all big and generally play the game tough.

That’s especially true of possible No. 1 choice Auburn’s Nick Fairley (above right). Baring something untoward happening between now and the draft, he should be among the first three players selected. Other guys like Iowa’s Christian Ballard (above left), will be taken later in the draft.
