NFL Almanac – 2/26

Items of note

New England – the Boston Globe reported Tuesday that the Patriots are unlikely to keep WR Brandon Lloyd because of erratic behavior during the 2012 season. His actions were not explained other than his behavior “proved tiresome” according to league and team sources noted by the Globe. If they cut Lloyd, it will mean a savings of $4.9 million under the salary cap for the 2013 season.

Oakland – according to ESPN.com, the Raiders are interested in hiring Mike Holmgren in a leadership position within the organization. Holmgren took 2 teams to the Super Bowl 3 times during his coaching career, winning and losing one in Green Bay and losing one in Seattle. Most recently he was the president of the Cleveland Browns before the team was sold last year.
