Items of note

Baltimore – the Super Bowl champion Ravens will raise the price of their tickets b 10 percent. It’s the team’s first price hike in 4 years and according to team officials it was planned for last year but was postponed.

Green Bay — the Packers announced Tuesday a ticket-price increase, with increases ranging between $2 and $5.

NFL – said referee Alberto Riveron will become the league’s new senior director of officials, leaving his on-field presence.

Transactions

  • Chiefs – signed S Husain Abdullah; released WR Steve Breaston and TE Kevin Boss.
  • New Orleans – released CB Johnny Patrick; former 3rd-round pick. Released TE David Thomas; he caught just 11 passes in 14 games last season and will be 30 in July.
  • N.y. Jets – released LB Bart Scott; he was due $8 million in the coming season after becoming a 2-down LB last year. R LB Calvin Pace; he started 32 games in the past 2 seasons for the Jets and had 70 total tackles and 3 sacks last season. Released S Eric Smith; he was due $2.4 million but was not a starter and contributed only 25 tackles and an interception. Released OT Jason Smith; former pick #1-2 in ’09 by St. Louis, he was traded to the Jets in late August ’12 and was a backup who is scheduled to receive a $12 million roster bonus in several weeks. Released TE Josh Baker; he spent ’12 season on the injured-reserve list with a knee injury in the pre-season.
