I agree with the earlier comment. Let’s bring in a veteran to finish the year in a competitve fashion, and let’s go for Chase Daniel to be our guy for the future.

Not all of the answers come easily. NE lot a good QB in wk one, We lost a qb. There is an answer we just do not see it yet. Is there a 7th round sleeper on the waiver wire? Let us all rally and show DH some respect, miracles happen every day. Who was Tom B before Drew B got hurt? The chiefs are just like the weather in KC, if you don’t like it wait five minutes it will change. DOG

How long can we live with this rebuild?

If Brodie is not the man, then 2008 might as well be forfeited, why get anyone else hurt?

No answers here that is why Carl and Herm get the big bucks.

The Chiefs would be well advised to simply slog through the 2008 season with what they have currently:

1) A perpetually wounded starter that has no long term future in the NFL as a starter in Croyle.

2) A journeyman aging vet in Huard who might hold together for the remaining 16 games in some fashion.

3) A green, raw rook in Thigpen who’s future is anything but certain as a future contributor.

These other guys like Simms or Rattay are not any better than the above. Bottom line, Croyle is a bust and it’s time to go draft another QB only this time, make sure he’s worthy of the pick in the FIRST round.

Harrington is a waste and Daunte is washed up. No thanks. I’ll pass on both of them. Yes, Quinn is nice but he is also what they call a “pipe dream”. It is going to cost us plenty in order to get him and that is even assuming that Cleveland would be interested which is not likely. I figure Cleveland will start Quinn next year. Also, it makes zero sense to trade our franchise RB. None of the other RB’s fall into either the every down back catergory nor the elite RB catergory and with an O-line like ours we will need an elite back just to have a decent run game.

How about we trade LJ for Brady Quinn. Dont get me wrong I like Brodie but reality it that he has to be on the field to grow and develope.

Don’t forget that Simms is a lefty. Our right side (his blind side) of the O line isn’t exactly what I would consider solid.

Does anybody think we would actually get anything for Huard? Didn’t we only receive a 4th or 5th round pick for Trent Green (who was very successful in KC)? I can’t imagine getting anything better than a sixth round pick for Huard(who has been average at best for the Chiefs).

First, no way on Donte. He is a human turn-over, and his attitude is sickening. Second, someone please explain to me how the solution to your starting quarterback going down is to trade away your back-up. Does not compute.

Simms has been just as injury prone as Brodie . I agree with the blog about Harrington. Hey Bob what is Harrington completion average how many games has he missed with injuries . Harrington has to be as good or better then Huard they both know how to throw INTS

I’d like to see New England give us a pick for Damon Huard but I can’t imagine it happening.

Tim Rattay has been overlooked his enitre career because of his lack of height and arm but the fact is, he’s been successful everywhere he’s been, he picks up offenses quickly, and would be a better option here than Huard due to his respectable mobility. Rattay is the player I vote for hands down. Simms and Harrington are overrated and should have joined Culpepper in retiring.

Also, maybe we should bring Marques Haggans up from the practice squad. We need a 4th WR and he also has served as a 3rd string QB in St Louis.

Hopefully, wht NE has up their sleeve is a trade for Damon Huard. He knows their system, and would be a good back up for them. And we could get something for him, and sign a younger QB like Chris Simms.
Just say No To harrington. he’s a horror show, worse than Huard.

If Brodie is only going to be out two to four weeks, I would suggest not making a move at this point. I would have Damon Huard as the starter, Tyler Thigpen as the backup, and find a player on the roster to be the third quarterback.

Patriots aldready have 2 young Qbs on their roster that know the offense. Rattay and Sims are not much “veterans” since they are also both (almost) just as young.
