Waters and Gonzalez are really a non-issue. They are both under contract and have no leverage. Show up and get paid or don't. If Gonzo shows up today it would actually be a surprise since he doesn't normally come to KC for the voluntary stuff.

LJ - when the arbitrator rules in KC's favor, he will be cut. Trade? Who in their right mind would trade for a player that is about to be a free agent? He is damaged goods like Pacman Jones. Somebody will sign him to a mediocre contract with many more performance and conduct requirements than he has seen with KC. Keep in mind that he can have more legal problems by violating the terms of his sentancing. Which will probably happen.

All Herm did was give Larry the ball , like I said I could have done good .
Even though going on 70 does slow you down some .

None of these three will be there the first day or even the first week. Why should they be? These are voluntary workouts and none of the three have to worry about a job. These guys are not intimidated by the new regime and probably scoff at the "right 53 garbage"

Chief in Denver says:

"Why let LJ go? If nothing else you trade him for a 3 or a 4 or even a 5."

Bob Gretz says:

"The bonuses and base salary can still be earned by Johnson, but he won't get them if he's not on the team."

Even with the off-the-field issues aside...he's simply not worth the money he makes. He had one and a half good seasons. With a killer O-line, no less...that any decent RB could have run behind. He's not a team player. And he doesn't like playing here.

Trading him for a pick is a good idea. Problem is, I don't think any team will. I think he'll be released, and end up somewhere...But for a whole lot less money. Some team will take the gamble on him, and put up with his BS. But, I don't think it will be us.

Why let LJ go? If nothing else you trade him for a 3 or a 4 or even a 5. This way at least you can control where he goes. The way Denver has been signing FA do you really want to see him out there & play against him twice a year for the next 2-4 yrs. I would think he may be easier to trade if the next team knows they won't have to honor the guar money. As for Tony, he never showed up for these anyway & is always in shape.

If Tony does leave and where he is playing they lose 6 of their first 8 games and KC comes out strong and wins 6 of their first half , its like you cant win no matter what .
I guess it is what it is , a game -- no more -- no less !

My predictions for the "KC3"...

Waters will swallow his pride and put his little temper tantrum behind him. He'll be humbled, but I think he'll stay.

Gonzo will stay, I think. He'll come in and play like he always does. Once he gets on the field, he's "all in" regardless. He did it last year...and he'll do it again this year. Pioli and Haley know that. Unless some team out there makes an outrageous offer that Pioli just can't refuse...which I don't see happening, Tony will end his career as a Chief.

LJ will be released...maybe even late this week. As soon as the ruling comes down that KC doesn't have to pay him the "guaranteed" money. I don't see anyone giving us anything for him in a trade...when they know he will eventually be released. I don't see him being part of this team...especially now. He never really has been, anyway. I'm sure he'll talk a good game, though...since he knows no other team will pay him anywhere NEAR what he would make here next year.

Yes, things will be different. Good. God knows what they have been doing wasn't working.

So long LJ. What a waste of talent. Who knew (at the time) just how right Vermiel was with the "diaper" comment. And he still hasn't taken it off.

What are the ramifications to the salary cap if the chiefs were to part with the three? Personally, I think the Waters issue can be worked out. LJ, is just a bad news and needs to be cut. Gonzo, love the guy and wish he would finish his career here, but can't blame the guy for wanting to win a championship.

If I recall correctly (let me know), Tony never came to these work outs anyway. He stays in CA. So take the KC3 to 2. Will LJ or Waters show up. I am betting at least 1 will. Trades are hard demand. Wages and a future dependon how they preform under the new regime. I got a feeling this is a mole hill that we are turning into the flint hills. That can be blamed on the Pioli and his gangs silence and that is not totally bad.

Well, what we have here is a game of liar's poker possibly being played by the, let's call them, "The KC 3". Interesting to note that none of the KC3 is in his prime, all are 30+ and, at that age and their positions, history suggests their best playing days are in the past.

Where's the leverage for the KC3? Perhaps their only card is to force the Chiefs to release them outright, but that too is unlikely and fraught with more downside than upside, or so it seems to me.

If any of the KC3 elect not to report on Monday, they've effectively painted themself into a corner.

I guess today will be the start of the Pioli/Haley "Who wants to be a Kansas City Chief era" by way of attendance in these first work-outs. If it was me, I think the writing is on the wall, I would want my face seen from day One.
