The Jacksonville Jaguars threw the first block of the 2013 regular-season opener on Tuesday when they claimed QB Ricky Stanzi on waivers from the Chiefs.
Heaven knows what the Jaguars may have seen Stanzi accomplish in two NFL seasons where he didn’t play a snap. But if head coach Gus Bradley and his coaching staff want to get a primer on just what the Andy Reid offense will look like on September 8, the guy who could give that to them is Stanzi.
Of course, that’s assuming Stanzi had any idea what the Chiefs were trying to do with their scheme.
Already on the Jacksonville roster at quarterback are starter Blaine Gabbert along with Chad Henne, Mike Kafka and Matt Scott. The Jaguars also have WR and former QB Denard Robinson among their 75 players. Kafka was an Andy Reid draft choice with the Eagles (4th-round in 2010).
Things could get interesting if Kafka is released.
