Jaguars Claim Stanzi

The Jacksonville Jaguars threw the first block of the 2013 regular-season opener on Tuesday when they claimed QB Ricky Stanzi on waivers from the Chiefs.

Heaven knows what the Jaguars may have seen Stanzi accomplish in two NFL seasons where he didn’t play a snap. But if head coach Gus Bradley and his coaching staff want to get a primer on just what the Andy Reid offense will look like on September 8, the guy who could give that to them is Stanzi.

Of course, that’s assuming Stanzi had any idea what the Chiefs were trying to do with their scheme.

Already on the Jacksonville roster at quarterback are starter Blaine Gabbert along with Chad Henne, Mike Kafka and Matt Scott. The Jaguars also have WR and former QB Denard Robinson among their 75 players. Kafka was an Andy Reid draft choice with the Eagles (4th-round in 2010).

Things could get interesting if Kafka is released.

if the purpose of signing the guy to get some inside of the opponent info then to me it’s very low. The jags already have four QB on thier roster so what the heck with stanzi. Lol.

Reminds me of a “conspiracy theory”. Hey Ricky lets talk about that Chiefs playbook a little more today!!!!!!

Just what valid information can they expect to get out of a cut QB that knows he’s about to get cut again on Saturday? Certainly would take any info with a grain of salt. A lot of salt.

Or do they see Stanzi as a…nope, not going there. They too had a bad year; just not that bad.

Picking up Stanzi is very similar to a self-inflicted wound. Nobody to blame except yourself.

Good for him, hope he finds a place there.

However, doubt he makes the roster by the first regular season game. Much like pros signing Crist after his fab career at KU. Someone’s thinking does not match mine, what do I know.

Stanzi never studied the playbook enough to give the Jags anything coherent.
