It’s about damn time!

Would Tyson have not signed a deal for this amount in June? I don’t understand why they wait until the last minute to sign these early rounders. You think they’d sign them first and then sign the late rounders a week before camp.

I really hope our D-Line is dominant this year with all the money invested in it. B/t Dorsey and Jackson there’s over $20 mil a year. 2 linemen making starting quarterback’s pay.

I guess now that Jackson’s signed Aaron Curry and Monroe can come to an agreement. Good luck for the guys selected right after Heyward-Bey, the Raiders have screwed alot of teams in their negotiation process there.

I’m not sure kr24, but Haley did have Johnson meet his parents at the last practice and talked to them for 5 min. I think that is pretty telling that Haley is having Johnson come over to talk to them. I wouldn’t introduce a gf to my family unless I thought highly of her.

So he must did good job keeping himself in shape passing the conditioning test. Also he learned the hard way about jumping offsides.

Dorsey and Jackson deals kind of similar I figured their deals would mirror each other. Seeing that both guys are lineman and both we drafted in the top 5. Dorsey got 5yrs 51mill w/ 22mill guranteed and Jackson got reportedly 5yrs 57mill w/31 mill guranteed. Either way good to see it done hopefully Dorsey will be able to transition to defensive end and both guys could be pillars for our defensive line for a along time.

arrowhead pride has a few updates, but the lack of bob at camp hurts when the “info” coming out says

“The defensive end from LSU likely won’t start practicing until Monday. The Chiefs have a scrimmage Saturday night and are off Sunday. Kansas City started camp last Saturday.:”

WRONG as always John Clayton…Jackson practiced today with the first team, and will be at the scrimmage tomorrow playing

Good to have all the players in camp and working toward a common goal. Looking forward to seeing us crack heads against a team other than our own. Rip, good point. Receiver seems to be another of those positions we’ve had little luck with. One of the early pioneers of the touchdown celebration, Elmo Wright being a prime example. Rin taught him his end zone dance way back when. Years from now his grandchildren will be telling their grandchildren they were there when the Chiefs resurgence began. Unfortunately they’ll also be telling them that Grampy, nee Great Grumpy missed the bus and was lamenting the good old days and lambasting the conductor while the bus drove over the mountain.

actually, T jackson is out there, passed his conditioning test, and participated in afternoon drills, including 11 on 11’s. Opposite of Dorsey starting….

He will play in the first preseason game, that is what really matters…sounds like he stayed in shape…already a positive sign

Good news on TJack coming in from the cold, so to speak. Although he saw it coming ‘in technicolor’ as the old saying goes, Clark Hunt has got to be feeling another considerable hit to his cash flow, adding on to the Arrowhead renovation, Cassel’s deal and Dorsey from last year in particular.

I have to believe that the Gods of Football Drafting have to smile on the Chiefs and their dogmatic consistency in drafting DLinemen will finally be rewarded. Because since the ‘02 draft, the jury has been coming in with a sea of thumbs down, although still out for Tyler, McBride and Glenn, but not out for much longer, you know?

Some teams are just snakebit when drafting for certain position players, i.e., the Chiefs and Dlinemen and QBs in particular. (The ghost of drafts past is wailing in the anteroom):

….ohhh, Sims, Blackledge, Siavii, Freeman, Vlasic, Livingston (Going old-school here for the folk w/Livingston) etc…ohhh…..

Holy crap!

The most glaring stat there is that he was able to get a 5 year contract!

It’s gonna take him a few days to get back on the field… I don’t like the fact he was holding out, I was telling a friend i was THIS close to start sending him hate mail…

That man is gargantuan though, hopefully he can start right away and make a difference.

Also Bob, is there a way to change the format of the blog responses where we can ‘kudos’ or ‘thumbs up’ the good posts and vote down the bad ones like I see in so many different blogs… It would help hide/weed out comments not pertinent or not topic driven.
