Game-Day Inactives/New Orleans

From Arrowhead Stadium

The inactive players for the Chiefs against the Saints on Sunday are:

  • CB Pat Surtain
  • CB Brandon Flowers
  • TE Michael Merritt
  • LB Pat Thomas
  • LB Derrick Johnson
  • T Andrew Carnahan
  • G Adrian Jones
  • DE Tamba Hali

Because they have only two QBs on the active roster, there is no third inactive QB.

CB Maurice Leggett will start for Flowers, LB Wes Dacus will start for Thomas, LB Rocky Boiman will start for Johnson, G Wade Smith will start for Jones and DL Alfonso Boone will start for Hali.

Inactive for the Saints are: RB Reggie Bush, CB Aaron Glenn, FB Mike Karney, C Jonathan Goodwin, CB David Pittman, T Jermon Bushrod and WR David Patten.

The third inactive quarterback for the Saints is Joey Harrington.

Starting for Bush is veteran RB Deuce McAllister and starting at center for Goodwin is Matt Lehr.

Saints also made a roster move, sending injured DT Brian Young to the injured reserve list for the rest of the season.  They signed TE Buck Ortega to the active roster.

Weather at Arrowhead is sunny, clear and cool, with game-time temperatures expected to be in the low tomid 50s.

Lead official today is John Parry.  His crew is 11th out of 17 crews in average penalties walked off each game, at 12.3.

Tony Richardson and Larry Johnson are almost the same size , Carl is all for Larry and if he does make a difference , running and blocking , you know Larrys best friend will be .

KC record is 1-9 and 1 win in the last 19 games. Worst record in that span.

the chiefs 32 defense showed its head again today.

Well, they played competitvely today, they just don’t have enough on defense. The O line really regressed today too I thought.

That part of regressee , include # 27 making only one have ass block , more than ever before . WHAT A TRIP !!!!!

    Competitive football??

Thigpen apparently cannot play under center.
WR do not catch with their hands.
OL spent most of the game on their heels and backing up.
LJ cannot score inside the 5 yard line, twice.
NO off. 360 yds. So herm punts down one score and was satisfied with his own call.
The Def. Line Tyler in particular spent most of the game being pushed to their right. Talk about no developement.
The KC chiefs lost at home by 10 points.

Based on this “competitive” game we should win 4 games next year. This rebuild is not working.

Welcome to the darkside tm1946. That was the most critical post I’ve ever read from you! They should have gone for it on 4th and 2. They’d already been successful a couple of other times going for it on 4th. Might as well keep it going.

Sorry Colby, with this game it is apparent the chiefs are suffering from the herm and clark view of what a rebuild it all about. Then you look at Miami, 6-4, my my they were not as bad off age wise as KC but they can PLAY COMPETITIVE GAMES. I do not see it having success with herm although clark has made it clear herm is here to stay.

How many times can we run a fade route when we are inside the red Zone before the end of the season? If we try hard I think 800 sounds about right.
Hey Gailey/herm Thigpen is no J.Montana, he is most acurate with his feet set, so next time we have a third and long lets see if we can call a play that lets Thigpen have a little time to set his feet…..this is what I was afraid of, now they have fell in love with the roll out……

Another GOOD personal call on Cutting Patterson and signing Ricardo Colclough, he had a hell of a game, he just gave up 1 TD for 47 yrds!
Happy to see we cut “the old slow guy”!

No worries tm1946. I’ve been on the darkside for a while now. I keep going into these games expecting a win but they keep finding ways to lose.

Keep up the great work Coach Edwards. ALL of KC is behind you and we know that you will lead us back to glory very soon now.

AND NOW, Clark Hunt has RE-affirmed Herm’s The Man!

    :-)

the quick sideline throw in the redzone was an extremely dangerous throw. If it was picked off it would have easily been returned for a TD.

Thigpen was sacked 4 times in this game. He is clearly better in a ‘full shotgun’ than the limited one they tried with him and LJ in the backfield. That extra yrd of a full shotgun gives him that much more time to make a play.
