Friday 10/22 Practice Report-Update

From the Truman Sports Complex

The Chiefs found out Friday afternoon that the number of Jacksonville quarterbacks they must prepare to face on Sunday fell from four to three.

The Jaguars announced that starter David Garrard would not play on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium because of the concussion he suffered Monday night while playing the Tennessee Titans.  Back-up Trent Edwards is now on top of the list, with newly signed Todd Bouman and Patrick Ramsey are still in play.

“The’ve got experienced guys,” said defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. “We’ll just have to see what happens on game day and I’m sure they’ll hold that until the last minute.

“Our personnel department gives us run downs on all guys and we look at tape of all guys, so we’ll have an idea of what we are facing.”

Garrard was the only Jacksonville player listed as out of Sunday’s game. For the Chiefs, they reported that S Reshard Langford would not play on Sunday, missing his fourth consecutive game because of a lower left leg injury.

The only other player on the Chiefs injury report was FS Kendrick Lewis who is listed as questionable with his hamstring pull.

From the Jaguars, listed as questionable were Edwards (right thumb) and RB Brock Bolen (groin). The team listed as probable DT Tyson Alualu (knee), CB Derek Cox (hamstring) and WR Mike Sims-Walker (shoulder).

The Chiefs went to Arrowhead Stadium Friday morning for their final practice in preparation for Sunday’s game. During the open window for the media to watch practice it appeared the only player who was not taking part in the workout was Langford.

At the end of practice two players who have not played in some time were getting some extra work in a one-on-one pass rush/protection drill, as DE Tyson Jackso (knee) and RT Ryan O’Callaghan (groin) worked in front of several coaches and trainers.

I’m hoping we get to see if the Tyson Jackson that played in the first 3 quarters is the real Tyson Jackson or an aberration…

O’Callaghan hasn’t played a single down yet this season. I’m wondering if maybe we shouldn’t just stick with Barry Richardson. He seems to be doing a pretty good job.
