I personally believe that Dorsey would have been tearing the league up this year whether or not Haley was here, I dont believe that Haley actually has Dorsey playing better, I do believe that Dorsey has himself playing better… Just because he has seen the game last year and now can learn from what he saw… He did pretty damn good last year, 50 tackles and a sack… look at what Haynesworth did in his first year, you’ll see that Dorsey wasn’t that far off, even Warren Sapp for that matter…

If a 54-74 record overall and 6 wins in the last two years is how you define “success”, then more power to ya, Bubba.

I think field position will be improved for much of this game – as I expect Kolb to turn it over a couple times at least. Short field equates to points. McCoy (a rookie) might well be carrying the ball. That could create short field opportunities also.

I thought Jackson was pretty bad against the Ravens, much better against the Raiders. McGee hasn’t been on the field all that much.

With the 3-4 defense tackles aren’t necessarily the whole story of whether a guy is doing his job. I think a better indication is run charts; how often did opponent run to Jackson’s side, and how successful were they? Even run charts don’t tell the whole story.

I’ll say one thing – the Chiefs held the McFadden/Bush combo to 70 yards rushing last Sunday. That’s not bad.

I wouldn’t exactly call Edwards taking the Chiefs to the playoffs his first year some great achievement. They were 9-7, and got an improbable gift from the Football Gods to “back into” said playoffs. They really didn’t deserve to be there, and it showed. The downward spiral had already begun, playoffs or not.

Winning a grand total of 6 games in his last two years doesn’t look all that good on his resume, either.

Sure Clark Hunt to him to rebuild the team after a dismal 4 win season. Obviously, it was Hunt’s mistake in assuming that Edwards could win more than two games while doing it.

And just for the record, the Chiefs are 0-2 not 0-6. Good to see that you’re giving Haley a fair chance to try things his way, though. Two tough, close losses. What a loser. Let’s run him out of town right now. I’m sure your guy Herm would have us setting the NFL on fire at this point. Right?

Your fascination with a below average coach is pretty strange, and in reality a little disturbing. Edwards is the main reason the Chiefs are the worst team in the NFL. So why you constantly toot his horn, like he’s some sort of coaching God, is beyond me. Haley is just trying to clean up the mess Herm left behind.

All that work on Glenn’s own in the No Man’s Zone during training camp has allowed for unencumbered mind his free of the ‘individual coaching’ provided our (now former) WRs like Toomer & Lelie – veterans who played with success for many years until being ‘coached UP’ by our man ‘duffer’.

I think as much as anything, this team simply just does not know how to win a game. Of course, some of the vets we acquired from other teams do. But the bulk of our team has experienced nothing other than losing. It’s become habit. That’s the mindset Haley is trying to change. It’s not easy, though. I have seen more inspired play so far this year. They just hane not been able to sustain it for the entire game yet. I’ll tell you what, turning the Chiefs around is a going to be a monster task. I don’t envy Haley one bit.

He’s showing up to play and is in shape. Very encouraging. Did you see what happened in that late 4th quarter OAK drive? Were we playing too passively and they just scored on us or did we run out of gas?

If I was Coach Haley, should you have to run a few laps around the field or get put on the list to be cut when we trim the roster to 53? When did we as fans decide a moral victory (aka acceptance of a loss) was satisfactory?…let’s raise the bar…expect the team and its leadership to get wins (and be disappointed if it doesn’t).

Westbrook is banged up. McNabb doesn’t appear likely to go. If Kolb starts, I’ll guess…24-17 Chiefs. If Garcia starts, I’ll guess…KC 26-24(with an extraordinary play by Flowers, we thwart the 4th Qtr. 2008 Tampa disaster).

To answer your first question…”no.” Technically we had the lead b4 the last drive for OAK and our defense didn’t keep the lead. O’Connell wasn’t on the field for that.

To answer your second…Cassel wasn’t overly impressive, but participated in decisions that cost the team points (e.g. the first half screen pass in the flat expecting RB to get out of bounds instead of throwing it only to the sidelines or out of bounds while in FG range) and made throws that made Michael Huff of the Raiders look pretty good.

For those of us who are not Raiders, please don’t waste additional comment screen space discussing this any further as a reply to certain people.

Yes, I do think that Cassel could have used a little help out there. He did great in the pocket I thought and used his mobility well. He’ll be better this week.

I thought it was interesting that Charles was out but I have always been a fan of Savage. There’s something about his running that’s exciting to watch. I was bummed last year when they sent him to the practice squad. I think Savage has a better sense of what is going on around him then Charles and it seems that Savage can break tackles along the way.

I’m wondering if they bench Battle this week since he’s 4th on the depth chart?

When the season goes on and more guys are hurt I bet that there will be less controversy around the inactives.

I guess we are looking for another morale victory game on sunday. Maybe the P or K will do something nice.

I thought that Cassel showed a lot against the Raiders. Good leadership, very competitive, and threw the ball well. On the down side he made a couple of bonehead decisions and backed into a couple of rushes. That is just part of growing with a second year starter in a new system.

O’Connell was definitely a turd on the field. Took one pass off the helmet when he wasn’t looking. Dropped a couple of catchable balls. Hope to see Cottam get his chance this week and O’Connell on the inactives.

Will be interesting to see if Savage and Charles are both active or if they rotate again. Savage brought something to the offense that Charles has yet to offer.

Does anyone else think that O’Connell is a big reason we lost that game and Cassell looked average? Did he catch a single pass that came his way? Watching the game again, it looked like he blew it on at least four plays. Sean Ryan is so superior to him in every aspect of the game that it will literally make me ill if O’Connell gets any PT against the Eagles.
