Chiefs Wednesday Update
From the Truman Sports Complex
Chiefs got their first practice of New England week in on Wednesday. Rainy conditions forced them inside.
Taking active part in the two-hour practice was rookie LT Branden Albert. He took every snap with the first-team offense, his first extensive practice time since since suffering a foot injury way back on July 31st in a joint workout with the Minnesota Vikings in River Falls. Herm Edwards wasn’t willing to commit to Albert being the starter on Sunday against the Patriots. What he left unsaid is this: if Albert shows up Thursday morning and has no problems with his foot from all the work, he’s the man.
The only player who did not practice on Wednesday was WR Maurice Price, with a thigh bruise. WR Will Franklin was a limited participant due to his knee injury, but he was able to move around well and did not show any signs of problems. Returner B.J. Sams (hamstring) and LB Donnie Edwards (hamstring) also practiced.
Taking active part in the special teams work was new LB Erik Walden and he figures to be active on Sunday against the Pats.
There are also a couple of uniform number changes. Walden is wearing No. 52, while new G Brian De La Puente is wearing No. 60. T Herb Taylor has changed from No. 65 to No. 75 and WR Devard Darling has changed to No. 81 from No. 89.

so what is Darling going to change his number weekly to the opponents best receivers number in hopes of making “A” catch?
Bob,
Just wanted to say thanks for all you do. I’m a former season ticket holder who had to move away due to military orders. Your wealth of knowledge and the information you share is appreciated. Although I’m in Redskin country now, I can still get my Chiefs fix thanks to you (and Direct TV). I can tell you it gets lonely being a Chiefs fan out here sometimes. Your website makes it tolerable. Keep up the good work.

great news about Franklin. Chiefs really need him to be the #3 (and possibly even the #2).
At this point I have no faith that darling can do anything on the field.
Man! And I just bought my Devard Darling uniform (Do they even sell those???)!!!!
Too bad about Maurice Price. He will probably be inactive for Sunday while Darling takes up space. Not sure why Darling made the roster. If we are going young and fielding a bunch of rookies, lets put them all out there. Price showed much more on the field. I understand that practice figures in as well, but only the games count. Darling should have changed to #1 – his catch goal for the game!
To chfsfan – I feel your pain. I wish my “investment” in Sunday Ticket was providing a much more rewarding experience the past several years!
