@Uncuffed,
Change "plenty" to "sufficient.
But yeah, I've watched all the games, and we got sufficient pressure on the QB in the last 3 games. Not for the whole game, but who does outside the Steelers and Giants?
That's why we were able to get the leads in each of the games. That's why we forced Favre and Rivers into throwing INTs.
When a QB is forced to hurry a pass, or is hit as he throws, and it happens several times a game, and we end up getting at least one INT per game, then yes: that's sufficient pressure. That's about all you can ask from a D-line where no starter has even 3 full years of NFL experience.

We absolutely need a playmaker at LB.

But "plenty" of pressure in the last 3 games? Are you sure you were watching this years games? We barely ever got to them. At least not consistently at all. All too often they had all day to wait for something to develop. The few times we did get pressure we'd get a few turnovers. Just think if we actually got an average amount of pressure (not just sacks, which we're the worst at, but knockdowns and QB pressures).

Maybe with the next draft Kuharick (sp?) canm fix the def. line and LB problems. It seems carl and herm may be a bit lost trying to fix these areas.

What about S Dajuan Morgan? Is he no longer injured, and will he play more this week?

I'd say our defensive problems begin and end with the LB corps.
The big runs all happened when the LBs were out of position. Our D-line actually stops an average number of rushes at or behind the line of scrimmage. Our D-line has actually gotten plenty of pressure on Favre, Garcia, and Rivers.
But LBs are supposed to be your playmakers, getting sacks, stripping the ball, crushing hits of WRs going over the middle, INTs on tipped balls, or tipping balls so the DBs can get INTs.
...when was the last time one of our LBs delivered a crushing hit on anyone?!?!

Our failures on defense start and end with the D-line. We have no pass rush, and until lately were getting gutted for big runs.

Now all the injuries at LB and DB is hurting us too.

While we are boosting Bob's ego, heard him on the radio today. He was frank and forthright, very enjoyable.

No one in the media has an opinion of what is wrong with the defense. While they are not blaming Gunther, they cannot understand why it is not preforming this late in the season, injuries not withstanding. One comment was Dorsey was an east-west player in college and needed to be a north-south in the NFL. Also LBs were not moving at the snap of the ball, reading and reacting which may be why they chase plays.

It seems that I'm always kissing up but not so fast my friends. Bob has provided the absolute best Chief's coverage on the net and I think we can all attest to that fact?

On the 'not so fast' front, I chided Bob a few weeks back on his extolling the talents of Brodie Croyle vis a vis, Matt Ryan. Old news.

Meantime, thanks for the timely update, Bob.
