I think they will move Herb Taylor to, right tackle and possibly move Niswanger to guard I was wondering if Tre Stallings is still on the roster if so then keep Niswanger at center and move Stallings to right guard. Anyways I think some guys are playing very uncomfortable at new positions that they are not used to. Especially McIntosh I know before the season had started he sounded like he did not like the move to right. He was always playing left. Okay guys the tradeline is coming up what do you do to bring some light into this youth movement the Chiefs are doing . I think move Larry Johnson if any teams are willing to deal with his contract and attitude I know Philly needs a back . So if it can happen let's do it for some picks for next year. Just a thought????????

aPauled,

My secret hope is that Herm is just playing his cards close to his vest regarding McIntosh. We'll see over the next couple weeks whether anyone else gets significant reps at that position.

I think Kearse's best days are behind him, but he still plays way too fast for McIntosh to be effective against him.

Regarding free agents - my perception of the Chiefs plan is to establish a core group of young guys through the draft and then fill in the gaps through free agency. Good plan on paper, but tough to follow through on when your young guys are getting pounded.

The big question is whether by the end of the season, when the young guys have had a chance to develop, there will still be more "gaps" than "core".

its rocket science for Herm.

That change might actually result in a better offense and more points scored. That would be borderline Arena ball....and Herm doesnt like Arena ball.

Carolina fans must have short memories. The Super Bowl team had many key Free Agents like QB Jake Delhomme, RB Stephen Davis, LT Todd Steussie, DT Brentson Buckner and others. Nice to know that they support us being a patsy to kick around.

Interesting how Herm is talking about young guys needing time to learn with the glaring poor play on the right side of the OL. Neither of these guys is young. D-Mac has not adjusted to RT but played well at LT last year. Why we didn't swap D-Mac and Taylor last week is only for Herm to know. Would have been the perfect time to correct this mistake. D-Mac could play and then backup Albert at LT and get young Taylor on the field at RT. Not exactly rocket science.

^
he wont consider it because he is stubborn.

You know whats foolish? DOing the same thing repeatedly and expecting diffrent results.

Having the same people in the lineup has not worked, and neither has been the plays they have repeatedly called. Somehow Herm thinks keeping everything the same will magically become succesful.

Here is the QB link colby

I don't understand why they would not consider personnel changes during the bye week. They did get rid of Sams as their return man to let a youngster takeover. why noy shuffle the right side of the O line and anything else you think might work==what have you got to lose as we are not going to win many games so lets find out if someone else can help.

By the way, I've been doing a little research on QBs this week based on that article findthedr put up about QBs comp% and starts in college translating well to the league. If you still have that link findthedr, will you post it up again?

I think I got it figured out fellas, Herm is a genius!
He's not the one who settled on Croyle, Thigpen and That Other guy they call a QB, it was Peterson's decision ;)
So Herm is just going to get all three of them KILLED by sticking with McT at right tackle. LMAO

That is an evil and diabolical plan, but genius.

Chfsfan is right about those Panthers turning it around really fast. I'd say out of the reasons why that team went from a basement dud to Superbowl stud is they went out and got Delhomme that year. If Croyle doesn't show us something in these next 11 games (or if he gets hurt again) then the Chiefs need to be aggressive and make a big signing/trade for a veteran QB. Or, if not, hopefully there's a QB they can get in the draft who can provide some stability to this club.

I know the protection hasn't been great. It was putrid last year but it has improved this year. Once Albert gets healthy and McIncan'tblockworthcrap gets benched then I think the protection issues will not be a big deal. Let's also remember that this offense was designed for Croyle and now that he's back, Chan won't be handcuffed into vanilla play calling. I still believe that that first drive against the Bears is something we'll see more of if Croyle keeps his delicate little butt out on the field.

lol @ findthedr They are NOT going to fire Herm during the season. As I've mentioned before this is precisely what rebuilding looks like. Get used to it.

As for those that say they could have built through free agency. That's true. But they chose not to. This was not a secret. The Chiefs have hidden nothing in my opinion. They straight out said. "we are going to rebuild through the draft".

I was in Carolina for the game wearing my Chiefs Red. I will say that the Carolina fans are a Classy group of people. All were very empathetic to how I felt. They said "hey...we've been through 1-15. Hang in there. 20 months later we were playing in the Super Bowl!" Most were encouraging that the Chiefs were rebuilding the correct way.

All we can do now is "hang in there". Pretty sound advice if you ask me even if it's very painful. I'm not a Herm "lover", he may not be the guy...but then again, he might be. I'm just a guy that's gonna ride this storm out see what happens.

My lord, how many sacks, and no run push does McIntosh have to have before he's benched? How could they NOT replace him? I don't care if Richardson is deemed ready or not. I don't want any kids benched, but this bum HAS to be benched, for lack of performance and to show that someone has to be held accountable for horrible play.

I figured there were some IT issues to sort out, Bob, and glad to see you're fully back up. My comment to this thread is a simple one, that being, when do we either go or cut bait on Croyle as the QBOTF?

I know. There are myriad variables and nuances to work through but the one that keeps glaring at me is the FACT that this guy has yet to win his first NFL game when he's been the starter! Compare that to Matt Ryan in Atlanta. Compare that, indeed.
