My secret hope is that Herm is just playing his cards close to his vest regarding McIntosh. We’ll see over the next couple weeks whether anyone else gets significant reps at that position.

I think Kearse’s best days are behind him, but he still plays way too fast for McIntosh to be effective against him.

The big question is whether by the end of the season, when the young guys have had a chance to develop, there will still be more “gaps” than “core”.

That change might actually result in a better offense and more points scored. That would be borderline Arena ball….and Herm doesnt like Arena ball.

Interesting how Herm is talking about young guys needing time to learn with the glaring poor play on the right side of the OL. Neither of these guys is young. D-Mac has not adjusted to RT but played well at LT last year. Why we didn’t swap D-Mac and Taylor last week is only for Herm to know. Would have been the perfect time to correct this mistake. D-Mac could play and then backup Albert at LT and get young Taylor on the field at RT. Not exactly rocket science.

You know whats foolish? DOing the same thing repeatedly and expecting diffrent results.

Having the same people in the lineup has not worked, and neither has been the plays they have repeatedly called. Somehow Herm thinks keeping everything the same will magically become succesful.

That is an evil and diabolical plan, but genius.

I know the protection hasn’t been great. It was putrid last year but it has improved this year. Once Albert gets healthy and McIncan’tblockworthcrap gets benched then I think the protection issues will not be a big deal. Let’s also remember that this offense was designed for Croyle and now that he’s back, Chan won’t be handcuffed into vanilla play calling. I still believe that that first drive against the Bears is something we’ll see more of if Croyle keeps his delicate little butt out on the field.

As for those that say they could have built through free agency. That’s true. But they chose not to. This was not a secret. The Chiefs have hidden nothing in my opinion. They straight out said. “we are going to rebuild through the draft”.

I was in Carolina for the game wearing my Chiefs Red. I will say that the Carolina fans are a Classy group of people. All were very empathetic to how I felt. They said “hey…we’ve been through 1-15. Hang in there. 20 months later we were playing in the Super Bowl!” Most were encouraging that the Chiefs were rebuilding the correct way.

All we can do now is “hang in there”. Pretty sound advice if you ask me even if it’s very painful. I’m not a Herm “lover”, he may not be the guy…but then again, he might be. I’m just a guy that’s gonna ride this storm out see what happens.

I know. There are myriad variables and nuances to work through but the one that keeps glaring at me is the FACT that this guy has yet to win his first NFL game when he’s been the starter! Compare that to Matt Ryan in Atlanta. Compare that, indeed.
