I hope the signing of McGraw doesn’t preclude Keith Davis signing. Davis is better on special teams, and unlike McGraw, isn’t an embarrassment on regular D. I also hope Morgan sees more action this year. McGraw should never be more than a special teamer and emergency safety, if he makes the team.

Friday March 6, 5:55 p.m. (CST of course)

It was a typical day in Kaycee – clearly portly to fashionably fat – my partner’s Frank Gannon, the boss is Captain Brown…my name’s Thursday – I got here yesterday – I carry a badge (& a few extra pounds but that’s another Kaycee episode.)

My partner & I were taking a statement from a Mr. Pieholy first name Stuck, reportedly Minister of Requisition for the Kansas City Cheese, believed to be a clandestine facsimile of a professional team. We had our doubts so proceeded cautiously.

Thursday: “Alright Mr. Pieholy, now let me see if I’ve got this straight sir.

You just signed a Mr. Jones for the Cheese…who was signed last year up north by – you – who cut Jones to then sign a former Cheese Mr. Price who cut the cheese- sorry, was cut by the Cheese and then later by you up north… now, is that about right sir?”

Scott: “Well . . . yeah.”

(the plot thickens)

Thursday: “So Jones – who was released up north to make room for Price- who was released by the Cheese – is in fact now here in KC, where Price was cut & in fact was signed up north by you to replace Jones- a PriceChopper as twere – so far so good sir?”

Pioli: “Alright Alright! So I don’t know what I’m doing! You’ve got me Copper! I want my owner- er, lawyer!!!”

Trial was set for January 4, 2010 in Dept. #16 after the close of business January 3. In less than a year, the results of that trial.

Glad McGraw is back for another year. Special teams are important and he proved he can still be an effective role player on defense last year as well. He had a heck of a game at San Diego last year.

Robertson was a guy who would have been drafted in the 3rd or 4th round last year had he not had injury problems coming into the league. Don’t know if he’ll make an impact or not, but he was a solid sideline to sideline LB in college and wasn’t used a lot as a pass rusher. Another low key signing and this is a young player as well so there’s some potential upside to it.

The guy from the pats also played for Chan, that may be more of an important link.

Mcgraw had a solid year last year on special teams, so I am glad that he was resigned.

Yea, apparently Herm drafted Mcgraw way back in 2002 with the Jets. The pats weren’t always perenial superbowl contenders either.

It’s a typical cycle. We took St. Louis players when we got Vermeil, and took Donkey players still under Vermeil a la Greg Robinson. I believe Hermy took some players from the green machine when he came here. Eventually Pioli and Haley will develope their own brand of player and we won’t have to borrow scrub players from other teams.

Thats 11.5 sacks in college. I dont mind (unlike some of you) if we become N.E. of the mid-west at all…a constant threat to win the Super Bowl every year. Its not like we are getting practice squad players from the Raiders or Lions.

McGraw was one of the few I saw hustling consistently, regardless of the score. Robertson? 11.5 sacks in 50 games? Isn’t that about what our defense was averaging anyway?

Glad to see McGraw stay he’s a guy who hustles and knows how to wrap up tackles. Pioli undoubtedly knows of him from his days of Pats vs. Jets.

Not sure about Robertson, but we’re certainly just filling up roster spots. Interesting and exciting times!
