Chiefs History By Numbers – Same Game, Double 100s
Friday was the 29th anniversary of the death of Joe Delaney. On June 29, 1982, Delaney drowned in a Louisiana construction pond trying to save several youngsters who like him were unable to swim. It brought an end a short but brilliant career for the Chiefs running back. Delaney’s most productive game came on October 11, 1981 when he racked up one-hundred yards in both rushing and receiving against the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
