If Pollard is signed before week 2/is on a roster week 1, his entire ‘09 salary must be paid to him …in these economic time$ NFL teams be more wary than e’er trying to save dollars (look at all the dough Jr. in KC ‘hasn’t” $pent) Pollard will more likely be signed after the week 1 games be in the books.

All pros aplenty being the operative word – 2008 DEFENSE RANKED #1 in the NFL 236.8 yards per game – #1 vs the pass 147.2 yards per game – #5 vs the run 89.5 per game. Points allowed per game – 9.8 – oh, and 33 sacks/26 ints too just for s***s and giggles.

Also not lost on me was how quickly O’Callaghan got his young butt into KC and onto the practice field. Then we have a castoff guy from the Fish as the designated starting RT which gives one pause, not to mention the QBs.

Still, it’s, on paper, better than what we went to war with in 2008 so hope continues to spring eternal but I’m not brimming with the inner glow of confidence that the Chiefs are ready to put the big hurt on the Ravens.

Also, if Goff doesn’t get his act together, the Chiefs should try Alleman at RG. At least Alleman and Ndukwe have some experience playing together so there should be some chemistry.

Right now its better for this team to be safe than sorry. This isn’t late in the season where we’re in a playoff hunt, this is week 1. If he’s not in the 90s percentage wise of being healthy then he should sit this one out. And allow a healthy Croyle to build some continuity with the first team guys.
