Cassel Done For Season; Chiefs Promote Horne

From Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts

Matt Cassel’s 2011 season is over. The Chiefs starting quarterback was placed on the injured-reserve list on Monday due to the right hand injury and subsequent surgery that he suffered last week.

The move was not unexpected and had been forecast by various national media outlets.

Cassel cannot return during the 2011 season. He can be around the team and attend meetings and so forth, but he can’t practice or play.

Filling his open spot on the roster for Monday night’s game here against the Patriots is WR Jeremy Horne, who was promoted from the practice squad.

Horne’s stay figures to be short, since the Chiefs more than likely will add a quarterback to their active roster this week to join Tyler Palko and Ricky Stanzi.

Supposedly Horne pretended to be Tebow in the preparing for denver. Also he has played QB before. Means nothing but would let the Chiefs “find” out what they have in Stanzi and Palko. Besides if the two QBs go down, I guess someone or something is trying to tell the Chiefs “why bother”. Why spend any more money now, a little late?

Well, the haters should have a party again.
Now the O-Line will block, the defense will shut everyone down, and the coaches will coach better…because we all know everything was Cassel’s fault. It was also his fault when the Horizon Level ran out of nachos.

Time to give Stanzi some playing time and find out what he has. Both lines are in need of improvement, and must be addressed in tge draft. There has been nothing more than average play (at best) from the current starter at QB. More could be made of the current offensive weapons if there was better QB play and a competent head coach and offensive coordinator.

I’m with you txchief time to get young guys some develpment time. Stanzi most importantly so we can determine if we need to take QB in 1st round or not. Also its time to get Powe and Hudson on the field. I mean no need of watching Wiegman get blown off the ball every Sunday. Same with Gregg he’s getting pushed around up the middle I would love to see when Dorsey come back we put Gordon at nose and work Powe into the rotation to at least find out if nose tackle going to be at top of list of things we need going into next season along with offense tackles
