With some help, the Chiefs have the chance to clinch a spot in the AFC playoffs if they beat Washington this Sunday at FedEx Field.
If they can halt their 3-game losing streak and then get some help from either Minnesota or Pittsburgh, they will clinch no worse than the No. 5 spot in the conference’s post-season bracket and the top wildcard team.
They need the Vikings to beat the Ravens in Baltimore or the Steelers to protect their home field against the Miami Dolphins. A loss by either Baltimore or Miami combined with a Chiefs victory puts Andy Reid’s teams into the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season and for only the fourth time in this century (2003, 2006, 2010).
