Southern Mississippi (11-2)

#12 QB Austin Davis, Redshirt-Senior – 6-1, 221 pounds, 4.78 seconds in the 40-yard dash – Originally a walk-on for the Golden Eagles, Davis eventually rewrote the school passing records that belonged to Brett Favre. As a four-year starter he threw for 10,454 yards, 87 TD passes, 27 INTs and a completion percentage of 63 percent. He was a dual threat as well, running for 1,355 yards and 25 touchdowns. Davis is projected as a late-round prospect.

#56 LB Ronnie Thornton, Redshirt-Senior – 6-1½, 240 pounds, 4.75 seconds in the 40-yard dash – A good all-around linebacker who had 279 total tackles in 50 games, he returned an interception for a TD earlier this month in the Conference USA title game against Houston. It was his second career score. Along with the tackles, he has 24.5 TFL, 4 sacks, 5 fumbles forced and 7 passes broken up. He worked inside in the Golden Eagles defense. He’s a seventh-round/FA prospect.

Nevada (7-5)

#52 ILB James-Michael Johnson, Redshirt-Senior – 6-0¾, 240 pounds, 4.68 seconds in the 40-yard dash – Playmaker in the middle of the Wolf Pack defense, Johnson made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage over his career. In 53 games with Nevada he had 283 total tackles, 36.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, 11 passes broken up. A projected fourth-round middle linebacker in the NFL.

#47 DT Brett Roy, Senior – 6-2 ¾, 280 pounds, 4.88 seconds in 40-yard dash – Earned first-team All-WAC honors as voted by the conference coaches in 2011 after he turned in a 63-tackle, 9-sack season. Over his career of 48 games, Roy had 145 tackles, 33 TFLs and 17 sacks. Because of his quick feet, NFL teams view him as a potential fifth-round prospect.
