Thursday Update 9/4

From the Truman Sports Complex

The Chiefs went through a normal practice session for a Thursday, driven inside again by the unusually wet September weather.

In fact the Chiefs are watching the weather very closely in New England.  Hurricane Hannah is on a path that will take it into New England on Saturday night/Sunday morning.  The team is scheduled to leave on Saturday at noon, but they are considering alternate travel plans as they watch the weather build on the eastern seaboard.

WR Maurice Price did not work in the practice and WR Will Franklin’s participation was limited as he recovers from his knee surgery.  I think it’s safe to say that Price and Franklin will be two of the game-day inactive players for the Chiefs.

DT Tank Tyler was not on the practice field, excused for personal reasons.  He’s expected to be back for practice work on Friday.  His snaps were shared by the three other DTs.

The Chiefs also announced their captains for the season, as voted by their teammates.  LG Brian Waters will represent the offense.  MLB Pat Thomas and CB Patrick Surtain will stand up for the defense.  S Jon McGraw is the special teams captain.

Up in Boston, the Patriots removed QB Tom Brady from their injury report issued on Thursday.

Ok, So if Price and Franklin are going to be inactive, are the chiefs only going to go with 3 WRs (Bowe, Webb, Darling) to New England?

And Bob, why is this team not looking at a young young WR talent like Chad Jackson?

    Thanx Bob,
    Giovanni

I too am suprised the Chiefs didnt bring in Jackson if nothing else but to give him the eyeball test.

What differences in quality of practice are there by going inside instead of practicing outside? Do you think this will hurt them on Sunday?

    Thank you Bob,
    David

We’ll bring 3 WR to New England, because we’re not going to be passing much, and we will activate all 5 running backs. Maybe we’ll go back to a wishbone offense.

BJ Sams could probably line up in the slot if he absolutely had to… he had a couple snaps with the offense before I think.

Guys, Jackson is really not a fit here, he is Reche Caldwell part 2, florida recievers have this history….

KC will have Bowe/Darling/Webb and use a lot of Tony G/Cottam with Cox at FB…bigger bodies, and possibly going 2 RB to put Charles on the field versus a slow D…

If KC felt Chad Jackson was an upgrade, it would happen, evidently they feel hes simply a Freddy Mitchell at best.
