So Much For the Winning Streak

From Arrowhead Stadium
A bye week may be the best tonic for what ails the Chiefs right now.
And maybe not.
“I don’t know what we are going to solve with three days of practice and a weekend off,” said OLB Mike Vrabel after the Chiefs were hammered by the San Diego Chargers 37-7 on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
The now 1-6 Chiefs are off next Sunday, with their next game coming on November 8 at Jacksonville.
“Disappointed, mad, a little bit of a letdown because we won a tough game last week on the road,” said head coach Todd Haley. “We had as good a week of practice as we had. It was the best Friday (practice) of the year and we were excited to get to the game.
“We got our butts kicked across the board.”
This was a major step backwards for Haley and his team. It was easily their worst performance of the season to date, and there have been some bad ones in seven games this season.
As always there was plenty to talk about. Here’s what we have:

losing sucks so bad chief fans are turning on each other ..after the game i saw to guys get out of there car and start scraping…i heard one yell out you cant drive!!! just like haley cant coach ….well to my ears that was a for real fo real insult and the fight was on..so i seen two ass whooping in 1 day …1st the players then some upset fans …but hey my thought is what will be saying if we loose to the browns oakland and the bills ..will we call for haleys head ?????
When the owner doesn’t give a rats ass, why do we?????
Well….here we are a week later after our win and what do you know? It turns out we really are as bad as we all thought we were. It’s disappointing but really not a big surprise. Look at what Haley inherited. They need another year to address the vast problems this team has. I’d say that if there is not serious improvement by next year that the personnel we currently have might not be working out. Time must pass…..as always…..to truly know if we are fighting a losing battle or if contending is in our future. I know frustration is high….but just sit back and forget about this year. Just look for improvement….but don’t look for a good team. It’s not here…..it just is not here…..period!
Maybe next year a good team will appear.
Owner not care? Hired what was the hottest G.M. prospect and one of the hottest coaching prospects. Even I, the eternal optimist is discouraged, but not quitting or yelling at other fans in the parking lot. Did we think it would happen overnight? It is tough looking at the donkeys with a rookie head coach, and undefeated, but lets look at the talent level. Notice thier left tackle? Could have been ours. Notice thier wide reciever, he catches and makes plays. Did we do enough in the off season? No, but maybe they tried and could not get it done. Will it get better in the next few years? Truely don’t know, but I will be watching and rooting for it to happen. There is no promices in sports, but I do see improvement overall. So gripe, complain, all you want, that’s what these boards are for, but for now I choose to watch and see the second half, plus one, before I write this off as a wasted year
The Chief’s hired a GM that can part bodies of water, and a coach that can raise the dead !
Wait—– NO , that’s from a book about something else . I’m a little confused .
Starting over, I’m thinking there are a little over 30 team’s here and 3 group’s of player’s that can just do so much .
In the group that is here , in part , was previous , to the new coach , and they don’t look like they can do much anymore . Isn’t that what need’s to be fixed ?
I’m not saying this is a wasted year….but the Chiefs certainly wont be a good team by the time it is over. Hopefully they will be better than they are now….but it still wont be good.
It IS really tough watching the Donkeys win all thier games. Makes me sick. I sure hope we don’t have to watch them go to the Super Bowl…..again.
WTF was that?
Now I know why the Card’s fired C.Pendergast. Our D has more talent on that side of the ball than the whole team and he still can’t get them to play. They have had the same coach and system going back to OTA’s. Sure hope the Chiefs try again to get Romeo to come be our DC next year.
It is getting more and more obvious that Haley doesn’t know how to make the best out what he’s got.
He can’t call plays, no hurry up or play action when those are the only things that seem to work for us at this point. Whats wrong with short 5 & 10 yard pass plays? They move the chains and spell the D besides keeping the other teams O off the field.
He mis-uses his personel, Starts the slowest running back on the team and makes sure he gets 20 touches per game, for what a 1.8 yard average?
All of this is the Head Coaches fault to not make the best out of what you got.
At least Chan used what he had last year and moved the chains & scored as well as made it look like we had a young team that was trying to compete. I think firing Chan was Haley’s biggest misstake.
My one joy was that Tomlinson didn’t get his touchdown…..after he thought he had it.
They need about 20 roll’s of toilet paper , so they can clean up with a roll after wasting a down on nothing more than a big mess .
Should there be a rule that every time the Chief’s piss off a down , the opposing team has to do the same , in order to level thing’s ,making it fair ?
Untill they pass this rule , maybe , someone will come to the conclusion that they need to do something different with wasted down’s and THAT might give this wounded knee QB and TEAM a chance to do a little ball movement .
I don’t agree with Whitlock of the star very often….but Jason has to be dead on with his take of our Chiefs . Every one on here knows my take on Cassel ….well we see a change. When push comes to shove Pioli well let Haley take the fall over admitting a 63mil mistake on Cassel.I don’t know if it was yet…..but so far it is too me.PnS
I just read that one team in the NFL has several player’s with handicap TAG’S on thier car’s , that isen’t here , is it ?
Step back a moment and put yourself in Clark Hunt’s position. Recognizing the malaise of CP and, by extension, Herm’s failing grades as head coach, he had to make a splash to provide returned optimism and expectation to the fans’ flagging confidence in the Chiefs.
So, he swings for the fences, brings in Pioli who in turn hires Haley and voila!, optimism among the fan faithful returns. But, look what’s happened along the way including the mailed-in effort against the Bolts:
The Chiefs are losing at a rate comparable to last season, or close to it, the fans are more than restless, unlikely to buy tickets/merchandise in the volume needed to help the needed revenue streams remain solvent, and the locker room may be turning on its head coach.
Add it all up, and if you’re Clark Hunt, patience is or has run out. Someone or someONES are going to have to go. It’s already time for Plan B.
Anyone here have any thoughts on LJ’s fast-becoming-famous “tweet” after yesterday’s game?
From AP:
“Last night on his Twitter account, Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson said “My dad played for the coach in “remember the titans”. Our coach played golf. My dad played for the redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn.”"
Sounds like a man that doesn’t want to be a Chief anymore. If it was up to me, I’d grant his wish. What an a-hole. You got a problem with your coach…you take it up with him man to man, behind closed doors. Not make a back-stabbing comment in a public forum. LJ has never been a team player…and the sooner he’s gone, the better.
Just a thought, many have bought into idea the team was junk and it will take time, as in years, to fix things. Answer me this. When will Pioli/Haley take the first step towards that fix? No to free agents, no to “impact” draft picks, yes to atmosphere of fear, 1 win, and on it goes. The someone more famous than me said a thousand mile journey begins with one step. Where is the first step for the chiefs? So far all I see is destruction of what was there and I believe you are not building by destroying everything.
Bad people can play football. That seems true in most pro sports. For every decent person, there are several you would not like to live next door or date you daughter. If LJ can still play, ok, if not he is cut.
Anyone else notice the pic on this article? Does that look like a HC or gold coach? More like a raving looney. I have determined I do not like Haley if that is not totally apparent.
We will be Ok…….just not this year. Oh well, such is life. The local station stopped showing the games last week, so it’s back to the radio for the rest of the year. I asked the scheduler if she might let us at least see the Raiders and Broncos games but I received no promises…..”ratings” she claims, and then they broadcast The Colts butt-kicking of the winless Rams instead of the Butt-kicking of the 1 win Chiefs. Go figure the ratings biz…..I listened to the radio play by play last week and was amazed at how much of the rule book and knowledge of the game was displayed by the guy who is paired with Len Dawson, Mitch Holtus???…..Len Dawson made a great point;
“If you know so much about the rules, then why don’t the players know…we need smart players.”
I think that sums it up. We want smart players, and smart coaches……at this level of football everyone is big, and everyone is strong, but it is the smart players who make the difference. We continue to coach and play dumb….seems that way to us anyway. I’m just wondering how empty Arrowhead will be when we go up for the Bronco game? LOL! oh well, they are the Chiefs and we enjoy them win or lose. Y’all have a great day. Out here.
We need to all relax like Paul in OK. The better team won sunday. SD had to win to try to make the playoffs. The Chiefs were badly beaten but should have lost no matter what the score was. The Chiefs are rebuilding and have not got much. In 3-4 years they will have a team that can play against other NFL teams, just not right now. They have a first year HC who has make mistakes, he will learn from that. It is ugly now but there is a future.
Haley is not Head Coach material, he is what they were stuck with because Pioli was a late hire. Haley is must go.
It’s pretty frustrating for all of us watching the product we have on the field right now. There is valid criticism to be laid on the coach and team. Those unhappy with the upheaval brought about to try to bring change to the culture of the franchise have plenty of ammo to attack. Bob does enough of that in valid critique with overt and veiled criticism. Others are less balanced. I think most of us believe Clark Hunt hired Pioli, who in turn hired Haley in a genuine attempt to improve the team. As Bob and others have pointed out it will take time and will cause the same or perhaps worse results while those who aren’t a good fit with new schemes and philosophy or do not want to be here (tweet, tweet) are replaced. The “old school” mindset of the coach and GM rub a lot of people who don’t like that approach the wrong way even though it’s probably exactly what was needed. It also feeds the hater mentality and gives license to write them off already. More of the same results as the two years prior to this makes it harder for all of us to be patient. Hopefully, they will be judged by their success or failure after a fair amount of time. As fans all we can do is voice our opinions, positive or negative, and wait for improvement. Unfortunately, positive results will be slow in coming and continue to try the patience and loyalty of “true” Chiefs fans who will still be here when we turn it around. The others will come and go but so what? Who needs them anyway?
Jody says:
“Haley is not Head Coach material, he is what they were stuck with because Pioli was a late hire. Haley is must go.”
Jimmy Johnson was 1-15 his first year. Was he “head coach material”? Chuck Noll was 1-13 his first year? Was he “head coach material”? Bill Belichick had losing seasons five of his first six years. Is he “head coach material”?
Not to put Haley in the same category with those guys. Just that, only time will tell. You can’t always judge a coaches upcoming career based on his first year…let alone his first seven games. He’s off to a rough start, no doubt. But, it’s not like he took over a team that had ANYTHING going for it.
Over the year’s I’ve seen QB’s thrown in bad place’s and get ran over , then reamerge later to land on their feet , or just go no farther than back-up’s.
Can’t solve all this untill they find high HP players in the QB-RB-OL-TE-WR spot’s .
Right now it’s such a big mess , in the middle of the season , when other team’s are starting to do good . What do you do ?
The amount of redo on offence is so large , if they cut the part’s out that need to be replaced there might only be 1 or 2 player’s left .
Jimmy Johnson started with NOTHING!!!! Haley has a 63 million dollar QB,100 million dollars worth of DE,great young CB’s and he cant even get this team 2 compete…the jury has finally come in guys and I know most of u dont want 2 face it but Haley is a guy making millions at a job he doesnt love…….. when he clearly would much rather be playing or coaching 18 holes professionally.
I agree Hailey seems to be in over his head with doing OC and HC at the same time, with a team this bad he needs to be a HC first, maybe down the road throw in OC. I am just tired of everyone acting like he is the only coach out there doing OC/HC. And the guys saying why don’t he run this or run that?? Have you seen this team, especially this o-line? No play he calls is going to work ok…
I love the CHiefs as much as anyone, but what we are seeing is how bad Herm, and Peterson made this team. Then some say why not 5 10 yard passes?
Did you see Dwayne Bowe yestersay? He droped more than his fair share. And Bobby wade dropping, or Shawn Ryan throwing the ball to a defender. He is trying those plays, the players are not executing. Bowe has a lot of potential, he has just gotta do something to find it, cause what he is doing isn’t working. What you can get Hailey on, and why I say he is over his head, is game management, like going for it on 4th down on your second possetion and on your own 41. Other than that I say 95% of the problem is the players.
Go down the line , do they a Good RB —NONE
do they have a good QB ?????
offence line—WHO?
TE—he left !
WR’s –star has bad case of droppies ?
A lot of just standing arround , no blocking !!!!
At least when a horse break’s his leg , you know what to do with him –he ain’t gona take you nohere ,plus there’s no Tweets .
I was a big LJ supporter but he has finally crossed the line with me…..he was dead on about his statements regarding Haley but 2 take a jab at the people who make it possible for u 2 have a respectable contract doesnt sit well me…..adios LJ! Nothing now but memories of him slashing through that great line we had and proving Vermiel he was a more dynamic player than originally thought 2 be and a a spoiled, money hungry self absorbed brat nonetheless……..
Alexthe”GREAT” says:
“Jimmy Johnson started with NOTHING!!!!”
Yeah, Alex…you’re right. Oh, unless you count Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, “Moose” Johnson, “Too Tall” Jones, Kelvin Martin, Nate Newton, Jack Del Rio, and Herschel Walker. Just to name a few on the ’89 Cowboys roster. Sure sounds like starting “with NOTHING” to me. Certainly not the talent level of the GREAT 2009 Chiefs roster.
My guess is that there will be more then a few changes before the next game. Page doesn’t play special teams, but McGraw can’t cover. Mike Richardson shouldn’t even be on this team. Larry Johnson, cut him or shut him up. Why didn’t we sign NT Ed Johnson that was cut from Indy? Again, the TE position is poor, Ryan can’t block and now can’t hold on to the ball. Look for some new faces vs the Jags.
I want to add to the discussion about Cassel. Archie Manning (that is the dad) played for the Saints. He had a lot of skill and was hot coming out of college. His career amounted to nothing because the team could never put anything around him. I see the same thing with Cassel. Give Pioli/Haley control of this team much longer than 2010 and whatever talent Cassel may have will be wasted.
I understand how everyone wants to stick with Haley because it is only one half of his first year. But he has not improve a thing on this team, is any player looking as if he improved?? 4 TE, every WR off the street, and of course, we say the OL stinks, just what has he done to fix this, Goff?? Sorry but after one half a season, I want his rear fired.
Hey mad Chief it seems after every game u are giving us a reason why its not Haleys’ fault. I guess u are a big supporter of Golf coachs posing as qualified NFL coachs…lol. What is so encouraging about Haley up 2 this point, other than as fans we wait until the end of the week 2 see who is next 2 be inactive? Gameplanning terrible, Play calling atrocious, Game management is a joke…next we will see players turning on each other in the game.
Alexthe”GREAT”
Marty was in San Deigo and Smith was going to fire him in the middle of the season ,then Marty CUT a large part of the team and replaced them with some guy’s that wanted to play —he got lucky .
Part of the play calling is not just NO running back’s that can do it .
QB that hold’s the ball forever and won’t change .
When you don’t have an offence line , you need RB’s that are 6′ 5″ & 250 lb’s and are E-strong that can plow into line backer’s !!!!!
It dose’nt matter—– player’s that get big buck’s —-don’t get cut —–>
Alexthe”GREAT”,
You’re either not reading all my posts…or just picking out some parts of them. It is ultimately Haley’s fault, yes. Everything that happen on a staff, or a team, is the head coaches responsibility. He’s made some bad decisions, and his team is playing terrible. That’s all on him…no argument there. Life of an NFL coach.
I am not defending Haley, really. Just pointing out that there are coaches out there that are considered good, or great, that got off to piss poor starts. It’s just too early to judge his upcoming career by his first seven games.
I think Haley’s play-calling blows, personally. His biggest mistake so far, imo, is appointing himself OC. If he wanted to replace Gailey, fine. He just should have replaced with someone other than himself. I think it’s proving to be too much for a rookie head coach. His attention is too divided. He needs to focus on being Head Coach, and nothing else. Because that’s more than enough…especially for a rookie.
But again…Haley came to a team that had pretty much nothing talent-wise. So I’m trying to cut him a break.
It wouldnt matter if we went out and signed the greatest OL of all time we would still lose games we were suppose 2 win and the reason would be b/c Haleys ego far exceeds any coaching talent he may possess.
so lets see the logic of these “fans”
herm got 3 seasons…
Haley has…7 games….
so…Haley must be fired due to not winning with a team that had won 6 in two years?
hmm…yeah lets keep firing coaches till we get lucky one season and have a schedule that doesnt include the entire nfc east in the first 6 games, and Baltimore on the road.
The OL by the way….was not fixed by herm, haley comes in LATE, he must WAIT to judge his players, he sees what he has, and goes from there…but only so much can be done, if we had gone out and signed a bunch of mediocre vets and overpaid them, we could still be 1-6…
mcdaniels was HATED people said he wouldnt last the year, marshall wanted him gone. now? hes some hero, and haley is the pariah…go figure
this guy pioli has recieved picks for garbage…he now has his scouts in place…this offseason when we have a top pick people will be happy because we need all the talent we can get…look at our roster…not even the depth chart…its sad.
It’s times like these you find out who’s a fan, and who’s been riding on the bandwagon.
At the very least, Hunt is trying. Which is frankly more than his father did for the last 20 years letting Peterson run the organization.
This season will suck, all year long. Accept it. There is no miracle solution you can perform mid year to turn a team around.
Teams are cyclical…they suck for a while, then they get good for a while then they suck again. Tampa Bay and Oakland were in the super bowl not too terribly long ago. Right now the Colts, Patriots, Broncos and Saints (the Saints? haven’t they always stunk on ice?) are in an upswing, five years from now when Manning and Brady retire, they’ll suck again.
The genius of Carl was keeping the team just good enough. He never made a move to be really good, because he knew that cyclical nature of the league would bite him in the butt. Just good enough keeps the fans hope alive. It keeps them buying Jerseys. It keeps the ticket sales high. It keeps the revenue stream going.
He didn’t run the team to win, we ran the team to make money.
We suck, own it, be patient. The head coach is in way over his head. Let him screw up and learn.
but if he doesn’t hire and offensive coordinator in the off season, send him packing.
We need a d-coor 2!
Having to wait until after the Super Bowl last year to hire Haley, tied his hands quite a bit in choosing his staff. Most of the good assistants and coordinators were already employed by then. I think you’ll see some changes this offseason. And DC will be one of them, I believe. I would also like to see Haley find an OC he trusts.
Or hey…just hire Cowher as Head Coach and keep Haley as OC. How about that?
I am in full agreement that it is hard to watch the Chiefs right now, but I am by no means ready to give up on them. It’s going to be another year before we have a realistic impression as to where this team is going; the entire organization has been turned over, and it doesn’t come together overnight. Some things need to be kept in mind when judging Haley and Pioli so soon:
1. Our coaching staff will probably look different next year; with such a short amount of time to prepare for the season they likely had to take what they could get. I don’t believe that Haley is going anywhere, but we will obviously have an offensive coordinator in place, and I suspect that we’ll have a different defensive coordinator. Romeo Crennel? Wouldn’t bother me any. We’ll have more time to prepare for next year, and the coaching will be better.
2. Pioli was stuck with leftovers in the scouting department by necessity this year. Having his own guys in place will help in finding the type of guys that they’re looking for. I think we’ll draft better next year, and we should have more options in free agency.
3. I’m aware that many aren’t happy with their decision to draft defensive linemen this year, but looking at the long term it was the right decision. D-linemen take longer to get up to speed in the NFL than most positions. We will draft or acquire offensive linemen next year, as it is an obvious deficiency; and even a rookie can come in and play to make a difference, as Albert and Clady demonstrated last year. The line on both sides of the ball will look much better next year. If Dorsey and Jackson play to their expectations, we could have a “great” d-line within a couple of years; we just have to be patient.
2. Matt Cassell has played pretty well for the most part, given what he has to work with. Yesterday wasn’t real pretty, but every QB is going to have days like that. Nothing went well for them yesterday, so better to have a crappy day when it doesn’t matter much. More experience, more protection, a little more talent around him, and he’ll be fine—he proved that last year.
Again, I know it’s hard to watch right now, but we aren’t much worse off than I had expected at this point. Before the season started, I’d predicted wins against Oakland and Washington before the break, so I’m only off one game—and the Oakland game we beat them pretty soundly on all stats except the W-L column. We aren’t going to see many wins this year, but I think we will see a little more consistency before the season is out. As hard as it is, I’ll be patient. If we don’t see a competitive team next year, then all bets are off.
lol… Well it would have been nice to see Herm here for his last year. The secondary would have been playing alot better and Im sure the defensive line would have gotten more pressure this year with Dorsey in the middle clogging things up.
Alberts looked better last year and so did tyler thigpen. Where are all of the Cassell lovers from the offseason who was touting his 60%+ completion percentage over thigpens? Or his career QB rating higher then Thigpens, lol.. Well just goes to show you that the chiefs were the losers in the Cassel trade. Buyer beware, some QB’s only look good in systems…
They need desperlty to Get Cassel off his feet untill he’s healed , can’t heal foot and knee injuries untill you start staying off them , they are the slowst and hardest ,because of being on them alway’s
LOL… consistency is that even a word in KC, maybe consistently bad? Well every QB has those types of games and some have them every game… Well it’s a good thing it’s not Cassel’s fault for signing that 63 million dollar contract.
Blazer383, wouldn’t any QB be fine if they added more talent around them and better protection? Really though they have alot more talent in the WR position then the chiefs do..
Im surprised that Haley’s scare tactics really haven’t elevated Bowe’s hands any, I thought maybe in the first week it did, but it looks like the players aren’t buying into the coach’s philosophy, they are all playing worse than before…
arrowhead1978 says:
“Buyer beware, some QB’s only look good in systems…”
Like Thigpen in “the spread”, maybe?
And yeah, I’m sure we would be a lot better team this year if we still had Edwards coaching. He was doing so well last year. And the year before that. 4-12 and 2-14? Yup, the Chiefs should have kept a gem like that on board.
383—
Cassel , Did not do pertty good , he was afull , don’t confuse bad performance with high pay .
Just because of mucho check ,no mean good throw !
BAD ;
– Passing
– Running
– Blocking
=====>YOU LOSE
I dont understand the allure for this Cassel kid…Rodeo John posted something the other day about choosing an unidentified QB based off stats. Well stats are misleading, especially whenever u have a Qb on your team who doesnt throw the ball away 2 keep his completion percentage high and takes sacks instead of takin a chance and gunning the ball into tight spaces. Im not a big Brodie fan either b/c he is 2 frail 2 play in this league but if u are gonna build from the ground up do it right DRAFT A QB!!!!!!!!
I wish I could figure out the eternal happiness of some of you.
Pioli/Haley in their first 6 months have done nothing to make carl/herms team better (unless you count dumping player from last year). Yet you say just wait till next year, those two will fix the OL and the DL will come together. I do not know what they will do with 4 TEs and half a dozen backup WRs. What has Pioli/Haley done to warrant this loyality other than not being carl and herm. Herm lost and never took an iota of blame and Haley is using the pizza against the wall approach, hoping something sticks. Hope it all works out or we are stuck with another bunch of losers AGAIN.
Todd “Tiger” Haley has no more clue than the man in the moon as to what he is doing. It’s not getting better people, things are getting worst he hasn’t a clue. I knew he was a fail when his ego let Chan Gailey go. I understand the staff is piss poor because it was a late assembled but Chan was a proven commodity (unlike Todd). Pioli should have hired him interim and took his time looking for a coach.
This year during the draft ,I said Sanchez is great, go after him .
Last year I was posting here also for Flacco .
Nobody reads this , pay’s any attention to that stuff or has anything to do with it.
Jim,
So far this year:
Sanchez – 6 TD’s, 10 INT’s, and 7 Fumbles
Cassel – 8 TD’s, 5 INT’s, and 5 Fumbles
Can you imagine if Cassel had TWICE as many picks, two more fumbles, and two less TD passes than he does? People might be calling for him to be benched. Ha!
Johnson is the most inconsiderot , rude , person in sport’s , and will hold that up as his greatest achivement ever.
There is very little money left on his contract, they are proably willing to pay him off and let him go . He did not start this untill after it was too late to get a draft choice .
Probably the best thing will be , put him on the pratice squad . I think it’s less than 200,000.00
All around if they get LJ out of the locker room , there might be some lift to the whole team.
Nobody cares what you have to say Jim Lloyd.
Shut up.
I’ve had season tickets for 30 years. Sunday was the worst effort I have seen at Arrowhead from a Chiefs team. They quit on their coach.
Pioli hasn’t brought in any upgrade in talent. They seem to only be able to bring in players they have had before. There were several good players available after the last cut. They did bring in Lelie but cut him and kept Long?
I was thrilled when Herm was fired, I suspect he sabotaged us for some reason.
I was thrilled when Pioli was hired…not so much when he hired Haley when guys like Billick were out there.
But now we are here, 10 straight losses at Arrowhead. Heck Gansz even won a few at Arrowhead. We have hit bottom as of Sunday, does Clark notice? All I see is the Club level half empty because of outrageous prices; the Wolfpack Club that was started by his Dad in the sixties being shut down and prices going from $185 a year to $750. Only a fool raises prices on a failing product.
If not for the renovations and the money being spent by the Hunt kids on it, I would suspect they are tanking the franchise in order to move it.
I’ll end my rant with this….I really feel sorry for LJ and Matt Cassel, NOBODY blocks for them EVER.
Haley needs 2 cut every1 and rebuild around Succop….lmao..The sad part about that statement is I think he may actually consider doing something like that.
Let me put out a disclaimer here…..someone mentioned something about “loyalty” to Pioli and Haley. I have no loyalty to them, they haven’t been around long enough to earn my loyalty. Neither have they been around long enough to earn my enmity; that’s my entire point.
Pioli and the coaching staff have been at a huge disadvantage this season due to the late hires and complete turnover of the organization. It doesn’t matter who would have come in at GM or head coach, things were not going to be rosy this year. Blame Clark Hunt for that, not management/coaching staff. Pioli and Haley are both very highly respected amongst their peers, and that’s good enough for me to see what they can do with a full season and off-season of development and acquisitions under their belt before I start passing too much judgement.
I’ll say too that all I invest in the Chiefs is a Sunday afternoon and a little time reading blogs; I might be a little less patient if I were spending hard earned money for season tickets and such.
Well the chiefs should be winning, they have the greatest GM of the century on board, they have a great coach who led the offense for a 9-7 superbowl contending team and 4 TE’s, albeit the one who was here already that hasn’t gotten a chance to play is the best one of em. This team should be winners!! WHY CANT YOU PEOPLE SEE THIS THAT THE COACHES CARE AND THEY ARE PLAYING SMART FOOTBALL BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT THE COACHES HAVE TAUGHT…
