Bob, both Pro Football Weekly and the National Football post have made recent references to some of the Chiefs' draft picks having "character" or "off-field" concerns.

We've all heard that Donald Washington got suspended for a pair of games at OSU, but beyond that, nothing notable comes up regarding any of the Chiefs' other picks. I believe PFW singled out Magee, but I've found nothing to support any notion that he may be a character risk.

Can you elaborate any further on this topic? Which players are they referring to, or are they mistaken?

-- Kelley Washington: Veteran Free-Agent WR Flashing the Most --
Sun May 10, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
#
"ESPN reports for the second day in a row, WR Kelley Washington is still flashing the most ability of the three veteran tryout players trying out at Baltimore Ravens mini-camp this weekend. Washington, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots, made at least three notable catches Saturday in team drills against Baltimore's defense. So far, he may have the inside track over tryout WR Jerry Porter and WR Tab Perry."

At the start of free agency, I figured Washington would be an ex-Pat that the Chiefs would bring in. After getting buried on the depth chart after signing with New England, Washington seemed to reinvent himself and became a very good special teams gunner. He's got great size and is an above average athlete. We still seem to desperately need a WR to help ease the loss of Tony's production. I'm wondering why we aren't having more veteran WRs in for a look.

Also, the Rams cut Pisa Tinoisimoa the other day. Perhaps he's a LB we'll look to bring in?

Please, Mcbride lit it up preseason, including against the vikes and Mckinnie...he was quoted bragging on hard knocks his rookie season...

so far hes put zero pressure on the QB...regardless, Jackson and Magee are both the type of players Id want on my team, and we will see how they pan out, so far I love their attitudes, and work ethic...Magee has really impressed off the field thus far.

Tyson Jackson's job is to hold up blockers he isnt going to come in here and be a sackmaster, so dont worry about him not being able to get by Colin Brown.

Tyson Jackson wasnt able to get by Colin Brown in 1 on 1's yesterday. If he cant do it against a 5th rnd rookie, he is going to struggle against grizzled vets.
