We must run the ball, I'd really like to see about 30-35 run plays, Charles get 18-20 touches and Johnson get 15-20.

Thigpen must have a better game than he's had the last three games throwing the ball, add 6-8 runs by him and we have a good chance of beating the donks.
It's imperative Thigpen make his progressions down field, take the dump off pass to Cox, Charles or Johnson if necessary.
I'm a little concerned about making the moves at LB THIS game, Donks zone blocking scheme can really create problems for a GOOD Defensive team and we all know KC's D isn't good YET!!

Rin also notes (and chuckles) listening to Lenny talk about his 'philosophy' regarding successful offensive QB'ing. He/I can chuckle now, but once upon a time even aft he was a successful QB for the Chiefs, he was not well respected by many.

When Dawson was playing one of the biggest knocks against him by supposed 'pundits' was that: "he's too conservative", "he'd rather eat the ball than throw an interception" etc. etc.

Well duh. Flashy numbers some - unlike Rin's rapier wit all - do not equate to greatness.

While guys like Lamonica and Namath and Hadl were throwing for all those yards, Lenny was leading the league in completion pctg. % often - he won the passing title ever other year as a matter of fact -alternately- for many years, and not until late in his career did his INTS start matching or exceeding his TD passes- whereas the aforementioned QBs who were darlings of the media back in the day came in a poor second TD to INT ratio considered. Oh and yes, Lamonica won 0 titles...Hadl won 0 titles (Tobin Rote was the QB when SD won in '63), and Namath one just once - Len was a Champion of one sort or another three different times...the measure of the man/QB.

AND for the 'record'- years leading in comp pctg. %, as well league-leading years as the top-rated passer - both at one time/still in one case are the all-time NFL record by...one Len Dawson, who also threw more TD passes per pass attempt than most every other QB -IN THE HALL OF FAME even, mind you.

Give me Lenny Dawson, Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham and Sammy Baugh over any of the QBs who've played since them.

Any of them.

As usual, good stuff between Lenny and Bob. I like the fact that Lenny seems to have taken a special interest in Thigpen, judging from comments made this time and in previous podcasts on this site.

Good stuff with Len again Bob. Hopefully this week Tyler will start to see the entire field more and spread it around to all the receivers not just Tony. That is what made him so successful in the Jets and Bucs games. So hopefully he's working on that. Still think we need to start out the game running the football. Make the Broncos prove they can stop Larry.
