Player Profile: Tank Tyler

Tank Tyler’s life is dominated by two things: football and music.

Football has brought him to the NFL and Kansas City, as he was a third-round draft choice of the Chiefs in 2007. After a rough rookie season, he’s been the Chiefs best defensive lineman this season, working hard on the interior of defensive front.

When he’s not involved in football, Tyler spends his time with music. He writes songs, both the lyrics and music, and likes to record his rap compositions. It tickles his creative fancy and also is his escape from football and seasons like the one the Chiefs are going through right now.   To find out more about Tank Tyler, click here.

‘best lineman of the 32 defense’…thats a backhanded complement if I ever heard of one. ;)

Maybe he can get together and rap with LJ!
They can talk about Herm and CP.

Bowe cant help. He sucks at rapping, and will drop the mic.

You are joking, right, Blake. There are no decent DT on the chiefs this year. How can you be the best of a nonexistant crew? On the entire chiefs team what is the weakest segment? The D Line that is what. The best of the worst, one heck of a compliment.

I didnt say he was great I said he was the Chiefs best Defensive lineman this year. Tamba and Turk and Dorsey horrible, Tank has played better than them, he has played okay. He gets a good push and holds up two guys, Dorsey should be playing better because of him. I think in 3 years him and Dorsey if they both step up should still be the starters. Tamba and Turk I dont think so.

Interesting. How many years left on tank’s contract, does he even have 3 left with the chiefs or will he move on? Hali does not have 3 years left on his contract. Dorsey has the time but he looks like a journey man and a impact 5th draft pick. My point is by the time this bunch comes together some will be gone due to contract or injury and some will not make it, so the rebuild gets rebuilt.

The Chiefs have a great young defensive line that will do even better with more experience. ‘Four’ new starters opened the season: rookie DT Dorsey, DT Tyler in his first season starting, ditto for DE McBride & DE Hali who was moved to a new spot.

Come 2009, “the Chiefs (to borrow from Hank Stram after the 9-5 finish the 1967 season) are sure to benefit from the adversity we suffered. Several of our young players got an opportunity to play that otherwise would not have, and this is sure to pay valuaable dividends in (2009.) I look for us to be in the thick of the AF(C) West race.”

And they were, finishing 12-2. Year aft Superbowl Champions. Et tu KC Chiefs 2009 & 2010?

To the critics, ye may eat spam, copiously. Come year aft this shall the ‘believers’ sip from the chalice ‘told you so’ – victory!

    heh heh heh
