More Honors For Houston: Player of the Month

From the Truman Sports Complex

Chiefs OLB Justin Houston was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of September on Thursday.

Houston was the logical choice after winning the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week twice in the first 3 weeks of the season.

Houston finished up September with 19 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 7 pressures, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumbles recovered and 3 passes defensed.

He’s leading the Chiefs defense in sacks and is second in total tackles behind only ILB Derrick Johnson. Houston is tied with Indianapolis OLB Robert Mathis for the league lead in sacks with 7.5.

Congratulations Justin Houston! Keep off the chronic (pot) and there will be more success like this.

Go CHIEFS! Go Justin! Go Defense!

I did not know how much I missed the defense of the 60′s until this year.

Home games you don’t scream on offense. You make noise on defense. Past years I’d lose my voice just to despair; this year I’m losing it because I want to.

    What a great difference.
