Joeckel & Aggies Workout For the NFL

The Chiefs and representatives from 31 other teams were on campus Friday in College Station for the Texas A&M pro-day session.

The former Aggies were led by OT Luke Joeckel, who did offensive line drills and left many of the NFL viewers impressed.

“Not only is he a good football player, he’s an impressive young man,” Oakland head coach Dennis Allen told the Associated Press at the workout. “I think he was impressive on the tape and just watching him out here, he’s an impressive young man.”

Joeckel had a meeting set for Saturday with the Raiders contingent and he said that he has a workout and meeting schedule for March 22nd with the Chiefs in College Station.

Allen and New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was also there to see the big left tackle and some of his A&M teammates, especially DE Damontre Moore and WR Ryan Swope.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Moore was a disappointment as he had just 12 repetitions with 225 pounds in the bench press. On Friday, he had 19 reps.

Let’s see what the FA net scoops up before signing off on Joeckel. I heard Anthony McFarland’s debut on Sirius yesterday who was excellent by the way, say that the Chiefs biggest need by far was a WR who could stretch the field and give Bowe more room to operate underneath.

Like many, he also stated the obvious in that Baldwin has been a big disappointment. It all makes sense but then there’s the value and BPA issues to address so who knows?

I wonder what Reid/Dorsey have up their sleeve regarding that 1st pick. With Albert holding down the left tackle spot its really “impossible” to think they would take one of the 3 Primo left tackles (Joeckel, Fisher, Johnson). But who???
