Inactives/Game Day Notes for Tennessee
From Arrowhead Stadium
Gameday inactives for the Chiefs today against Tennessee are:
- QB Ingle Martin
- RB Larry Johnson
- LB Donnie Edwardds
- G Brian De La Puente
- T Barry Richardson
- WR Jeff Webb
- TE John Paul Foschi
Tyler Thigpen is the third inactive quarterback.
For the Titans inactives of note are both starting WRs Justin Gage and Justin McCareins, along with starting DT Tony Brown.
Also inactive for Tennessee are CB Reynaldo Hill, RB Chris Henry, T Mike Otto and DE William Hayes. Chris Simms is the third inactive quarterback.
Replacing Gage and McCareins in the starting lineup will be Lavelle Hawkins and Brandon Jones. At DT, Jason Jones will replace Tony Brown.Â
Hawkins and Jason Jones are rookies. Brandon Jones is a fourth-year player out of Oklahoma.
TE Tony Gonzalez’s career receivng yardage record for tight ends is scheduled to be honored at the first timeout, with a video presentation inside the stadium and presentation of the record football to officials of the Pro Football Hall of Fame who are on hand for the ceremony. Whether or not Gonzalez takes part in the ball presentation remains unknown.
The newest Chiefs player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame will receive his Hall of Fame ring in pre-game ceremonies. Emmitt Thomas will receive his ring from Hall of Fame executive director Steve Perry on the field.
At half-time, those Chiefs alumni in attendence will be honored and the newest member of the Chiefs Hall of Fame will be introduced to the stadium, DT Curley Culp.

Lets hope we don’t lose both qb’s one to injury and one to fear.
Who will play qb then if were only dressing 2?
“Whether or not Gonzalez takes part in the ball presentation remains unknown.”
ouch.
How unable must OT Barry Richardson be to:
a) not be able to oust the human sieve, McIntosh
AND
b) not even be active/have gotten any game snaps to date?
Barry Richardson – youth movement with asterisk *
Why is Edwards inactive? He practiced this week, according to all reports. Is he still hobbled by the hamstring? or does he just really suck now?
so Herm goes up against the Titans (the only undefeated team and with a formidable defense) with only 2 active qbs.
that is incompetence.
At least Tony G looks good 74yards 1st half.
Well that’s it. The Chiefs should not waste any more time on B. Croyle. I’m sorry for him but it’s time to move on.
Can someone, (not u true red and embarrassed) if Thigpen was inactive how did he play?
CUT HUARD!!!! He is a GUTLESS WONDER!!!!!!!!!!!
Activate Martin and start Thigpen!!!!!
The above two comments belong to me.
the inactive 3rd qb can play but if he comes into the game the other two active qb’s can not
John Unitas could not have fixed this game. The best team won and so the rebuild goes on.
return to the game
ahhh ok Thanks Byzkit, so what the hell was wrong with Huard this time?
It’s a shame, because Croyle played well for the smidgeon of time he was in this season, but at this point the Chiefs brass has to see the handwriting on the wall. They’ve got to pick up a starting QB either in the draft or a postseason trade. Maybe Brodie can stay as a backup.
tmess, I’m not suggesting that Chiefs would have won with Thigpen but at least he dosn’t quit on the field!
tmessina,
I’d say John Unitas could not have WON this game, but I think the outcome would have been a lot better of Croyle would have gone the whole way.
your absolutely right ILChiefsFan it is a shame< I’m truly sad for him.
He has played well when in.
Can’t you hear Thigpen in the locker room, getting in everyone’s face…”I can’t do it all by myself people”. LOL
John it is not a question of quitting. Someone in the chiefs decided while Brodie was out they did not need a veteran QB, in comes Martin. Huard was good enough, Thigpen was good enough? So what you see is what we get. Forget unfortunate Brodie, is there one NFL quality QB on this team? With the loss of Brodie this team may not be anything the rest of the year. So everyone can get on the blogs and cuss each other, Maybe something different will happen next year.
Herm might as well see what Martin can do no use using a high draft pick on a qb if our qb of the future is in house. What’s the worst that happens? We lose a game its not like that hasn’t happened this year.
tmess, I agree with every thing you said except for the not quiting, Huard did quit and that is the 3rd time this season.
Has anyone heard, was it Croyles knee or leg, It looked like he had an air cast on when he was leaving the stadium.
Knee done for the season, herm’s news conference.
God I feel bad for that guy…….
I dont think I can participate in this comment area anymore for the fact of censorship. For the last wk or so i have noticed LOTS of comments after mine, while mine is still “awaiting moderation” which means no one else can see it, and by the time its “approved” time has past. There is no excuse for it.
As for the chiefs, we have now given up 300yrd rushing…again. this team is a joke and the orginiziation is too until they make some major changes.
Gretz himself said after the Carolina game that the coaches have to look in the mirror and make a statement against the Titans, and after 2 wks we aer still ‘flustrated’ (herms new word).
This is poor coaching. plain and simple. cant make excuses by saying young players, or needing more time.
I bet we don’t here many ppl crying about the shot below the waist on Croyle like we did when Brady went down, I didn’t get to see the play that well, the stream was real choppy but it didn’t look like the guy was blocked into him
The shot on Brodie was legal. Just big guys playing hard!
When Thigpen ran into the end zone for the TD and got leveled by the safety. Even the announcers said no matter what he would not get a penalty flag. But they said had it been Tom Brady, then the flags would have been flying all over the place. Just goes to show you the big names from the big markets will get the preferential treatment.
