Game-Day Inactives 11/2

From Arrowhead Stadium

The Chiefs game-day inactives announced this morning are:

  • P Dustin Colquitt
  • CB Patrick Surtain
  • RB Larry Johnson
  • LB Wes Dacus
  • C-G Wade Smith
  • T Andrew Carnahan
  • WR Jeff Webb

Ingle Martin is the inactive third quarterback.

The Bucs left starting LG Arron Sears (concussion) and RB Warrick Dunn (back) and backup WR Maurice  Stovall (hamstring) at home, so they top the game-day inactives for Tampa.  Rookie Jeremy Zuttah is expected to start for Sears and former Chiefs RB Michael Bennett should start for Dunn.

Rounding out the inactives for the Bucs are QB Brian Griese, WR Dexter Jackson and FB B.J. Askew.

Rookie Josh Johnson is the third inactive quarterback.

Weather conditions were pefect Sunday morning, with clear skies, plenty of sun and game-time temperatures expected at 70 to 75 degrees.

I’m glad you are still with the Chiefs, but we miss you on the sidelines. Wish you still had the mic. on the sidelines. Do us a favor: Stay with the Chiefs.

I just finished watching the game. I’ve been a lifelong fan and realized the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that I used to feel as a child when the Chiefs would find a way to lose has returned. I’ve never been a fan to openly hope the head coach on my team be fired but that’s where I am with the Chiefs. They’re the only team I’ve rooted for my entire life and I go back to when they participated in the first Superbowl. I’ve followed all of the loyal fans anguish as the season has unraveled and hoped that we would see a turnaround before season’s end. When Herm Edwards came to KC the coaching reputation he had was not a secret. He has fulfilled the predictions of those who followed his career elsewhere regarding his primitive approach to offensive football and his coaching philosophy. He made his feelings clear from the beginning by openly criticizing the offensive system the Chiefs had when he arrived. I also saw the imbalance that existed when Dick Vermeil coached the Chiefs and no lead was safe. What I don’t understand is how we arrived at this point where neither side of the ball, or special teams for that matter, can be depended on to win a game that we absolutely should have won. Herm Edwards is supposed to be a defensive coach and master of the Tampa defense. I respect him as a person and know he’s a good man but as Marty used to say, this is a performance driven business. I keep hearing about firing Gunther and Chan, etc. The head coach is responsible for the entire team. You can’t blame the assistants and GM and give him a pass. The Chiefs look helpless on the field and I feel sorry for the young players who do have talent are giving their all to try to win. I wish I saw a way out of this mess but I do not until it plays out and it becomes apparent to all that Herm is not the answer and doesn’t have the answer. Unfortunately, by then we may have two or more seasons like this one. I’m painfully disheartened and I’m a loyal fan who will always love the Chiefs. I can imagine how the casual fans feel or the young fans who live and die with the Chiefs. The only consolation I have is that I’m much older now and realize the world doesn’t end if my team loses and that I have many more important matters to be worried about in my own life. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make the feeling in the pit of my stomach go away.
