Fox Talks Broncos, Tebow

Indianapolis, Indiana

As champions of the AFC West there would be a lot of off-season attention on the Denver Broncos. But add in the presence of Tim Tebow, and the glare of the spotlight gets amped up even more.

Broncos head coach John Fox talked about all things Denver at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday morning at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“At the end of the day we are very comfortable with Tim,” Fox said. “He did turn us from a 4-12 team, into a playoff team. Our goal was to be champions at the beginning of the season. We got division champs, but we didn’t get conference champs or world champs.

“It’s a great story and it ought to be celebrated. In today’s society, these types of guys don’t come along very often. I think it’s kind of neat.”

Sometimes it gets messy, like public comments disparaging Tebow that were made by QB Brady Quinn.

“Knowing both Brady and Tim very well, sometimes things get lost in translation,” said Fox. “Their relationship is very close. They are good teammates to each other. We still like Brady Quinn. Sometimes that happens.”

Fox has said that he wants to see the Broncos bring in two new quarterbacks to compete with Tebow. “Typically we go to camp with four quarterbacks, we’ve got two, so we need two more,” Fox said. “They could come from a variety of areas. We are just trying to find talent that fits with the Denver Broncos.

“Really every position on our football team will try to improve, so we can improve our team.

“We definitely took a step we, but we aren’t done yet. We are moving in the right direction. We have bigger steps to take.”
