Thigpen needs to be benched. poor mechanics, poor decisions, throwing jumpballs (that sometimes work sometimes dont), poor accuracy. That being said, he still doesnt show any "touch" on the ball (like Cassel is able to) and just fires the ball to a spot regardless where on the field. This is great on intermediate routes, but he is not getting enough "air" underneath the ball on deep throws. 2. He has taken some tough hits and bounced back. Each time he is sacked the commentators scream instinctively "croyle is down" as if its a season ending injury, and when they show him on the field he is walking around fine. If you think of all the qbs that have been injured behind the chiefs offensive line over the years (croyle, green, huard, thigpen, cassel) one must think it might not be the qbs, but have more to do with the line. 3. He is very calm, but sometimes too calm (i.e no sense of urgency). Had a delay of game. Offensive LIne: 1. whoever is at RT sucks (whether it is McIntosh or Nudukwe). They cannot pass block. 2. as a whole the line seems to be doing a better job then they did against seatle. WRs: 1. bradley makes a nice catch and move to get upfield. 2. LBs: 1. still a liability in pass coverage, but I am getting encouraged and expect to see improvement as the season progresses 2. Vrabel makes alot of smart decisions throughout the game. he is a complete LB 3. Hali seems to be a good compliment for Vrabel as a starting OLB. He got a sack and is able to pressure. He is much quicker at the decreased weight, and is thriving not being on the LOS. 4. Biesel made some smart decisions on running plays, and DJ had a tackle behind the LOS. 5. Corey mays had another sack 6. turk mcbride also making tackles when given the oppurtunity 7. As a whole the LB unit was considered a weakness, and these guys have probably stepped up more then any other position group and are showing some quality and depth. i expect them to improve as they get more comfortable in the new defense Safties: 1. McGraw has had a great 1st half making hard tackles, and breaking up plays. 2. Dujuan Morgan has really stepped up the last 2 games. Got an INT. Shows speed and tackling ability. Maybe the light finally came on for him. CB: 1. Donald Washington got Flowers starting spot. Gave up some passes, but defended some passes. SO far has been a sure tackler 2. Carr and Leggit are continue to play and play well. ST: 1. Colquitt having another good game as expected 2. Succop is perfect tonight in FG. His kickoffs havent gone in the end zone, but are close (around the 1). Would be nice for him to get more touchbacks. 3. Jevon Belcher made a good ST tackle. I think he deserves to be on the team 4. punt/kickoff returners continue to suck. Have bobled/fumbled, made poor decisions (allowing balls to be downed at 1), and getting poor field position. Coaching/offensive play calling 1. the offensive play calling has been more vertical throws. Thats good, but sometimes on 3rd and short they have tried to get a big play instead of just trying to move the chains. As a whole the playcalling today has been more aggressive and improved compared to Gailey's calls so far this season. 2. They have been asking croyle to get the ball behind center which is unfair because the line cant pass block for very long....they need to go more exclusively to shotgun 3. They continue to rotate Olineman when the starting QB is in (croyle tonight). That is completely unfair to him and the other players because their is no continuity. You cant expect to go deep when behind a patchwork line that havent played with each other for very long. 4. Haley is angry with everyone. he is scowling all the time, jawwing with croyle. At this rate I dont think he will be able to hold it together for the entire season. 1st half assessments:

1. still a liability in pass coverage, but I am getting encouraged and expect to see improvement as the season progresses
2. Vrabel makes alot of smart decisions throughout the game. he is a complete LB
3. Hali seems to be a good compliment for Vrabel as a starting OLB. He got a sack and is able to pressure. He is much quicker at the decreased weight, and is thriving not being on the LOS.
4. Biesel made some smart decisions on running plays, and DJ had a tackle behind the LOS.
5. Corey mays had another sack
6. turk mcbride also making tackles when given the oppurtunity
7. As a whole the LB unit was considered a weakness, and these guys have probably stepped up more then any other position group and are showing some quality and depth. i expect them to improve as they get more comfortable in the new defense

Safties:
1. McGraw has had a great 1st half making hard tackles, and breaking up plays.
2. Dujuan Morgan has really stepped up the last 2 games. Got an INT. Shows speed and tackling ability. Maybe the light finally came on for him.

CB:
1. Donald Washington got Flowers starting spot. Gave up some passes, but defended some passes. SO far has been a sure tackler
2. Carr and Leggit are continue to play and play well.

ST:
1. Colquitt having another good game as expected
2. Succop is perfect tonight in FG. His kickoffs havent gone in the end zone, but are close (around the 1). Would be nice for him to get more touchbacks.
3. Jevon Belcher made a good ST tackle. I think he deserves to be on the team
4. punt/kickoff returners continue to suck. Have bobled/fumbled, made poor decisions (allowing balls to be downed at 1), and getting poor field position.

Coaching/offensive play calling
1. the offensive play calling has been more vertical throws. Thats good, but sometimes on 3rd and short they have tried to get a big play instead of just trying to move the chains. As a whole the playcalling today has been more aggressive and improved compared to Gailey’s calls so far this season.
2. They have been asking croyle to get the ball behind center which is unfair because the line cant pass block for very long….they need to go more exclusively to shotgun
3. They continue to rotate Olineman when the starting QB is in (croyle tonight). That is completely unfair to him and the other players because their is no continuity. You cant expect to go deep when behind a patchwork line that havent played with each other for very long.
4. Haley is angry with everyone. he is scowling all the time, jawwing with croyle. At this rate I dont think he will be able to hold it together for the entire season.

Halley with his down your throat style of coaching has my patience for a few years, I just hope they don't can him and bring in a new system before we see if he can really build something. I could go completely off my rocker and say they're on their way to the playoffs this year, but I haven't lost touch with all reality just yet. The teams gonna be a mess this year, and maybe slightly less of a mess next year. The 'Peterson 5-year plan(+15)' to put together a team just good enough to keep fans in the seats finally ran its course and this is what's left. I do have high hopes that a new owner and a new regime can eventually put things right. Even through rose colored glasses, 4-12 is looking pretty good considering what most folks say about this team.
