Chiefs Update 12/12
From the Truman Sports Complex
The Chiefs went through their final practice of the week late Friday morning n preparation to face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
While no player was declared out of the game against the Chargers, C Rudy Niswanger and CB Maurice Leggett will not play. Niswanger with a knee injury and Leggett with a shoulder problem; neither one practiced on Friday.
That opens the door for veteran CB Pat Surtain to get back on the field. Surtain last played on October 26th against the New York Jets when he suffered a quadriceps injury. In 13 games, Surtain has played in just five this season. On Friday, he was a full participant in practice, the first time he’s been listed as such since the injury.
Also getting a full go of practice work on Friday were RT Damion McIntosh, RG Adrian Jones and LB Pat Thomas.
Limited were WR Mark Bradley and LB Donnie Edwards. Herm Edwards said after practice that he believes Bradley will be able to play this week. Not so with Edwards.
For the Chargers on their official injury report, they have listed as doubtful LB Anthony Waters (hamstring), S Clinton Hart (shoulder) and FB Mike Tolbert (shoulder). Listed as probable are LB Jyles Tucker (hamstring)
and LB Marques Harris (hamstring).

Too little too late for Surtain. The Chiefs might as well let Colclough and Dejuan Morgan play a bunch against the Chargers. At least they are young players who might be around to help next year. Not so with Surtain. Surtain had a nice run in KC and was actually a pretty good trade pick-up, but his time is over here, time to move on.
Agreed Colby. Surtain just needs to play well Sunday to audition for some other team. This will probably be him and Donnie Edwards last year here. Good to see Bradley is back should help Tyler out alot now that he’s back.
Here here! Surtain is done, and so is Edwards. I fear, however, that Surtain is going to get bombed on and I mean, back goes Rivers on a play action and touchdown. He, like LAW,( Remember him?) does not have speed. Trust me, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t need Surtain to “audition” for another team and put the chiefs at risk here. We should beat this powder puff blue chargers team. L.T. really stands for LaTania! God I hate the chargers!!! I hate the Broncos!!! I hate Jay “duh duh” cutler! GO CHIEFS!!!!!
I’m sad to say that I agree, Donnie Edwards will be finished with his career when this season is done. I’m sure this will be Surtain’s last season with the Chiefs also. At this point in time we might just as well go with all the rookies to finish out the season to see what they offer and to give them some game experience. GO CHIEFS!
Keep up the unproductive work Coach Edwards. ALL of KC is sick of you and we know that you will make excuses and lead us back to 2 and 14 very soon now.
AND NOW, Clark Hunt has RE-affirmed Herm’s The Man On The Hot Seat!
