Chiefs Shuffle Defensive Tackles

The Chiefs have brought back DT Jerrell Powe, re-signing the one-time 6th-round draft choice to the active roster.

They made room for Powe by releasing DT Kyle Love who was signed two weeks ago.

Powe was on the final 53-man roster on August 31st, but he ended up being released on September 1st, after the Chiefs claimed 8 players on the waiver wire, including DT Jaye Howard.

In the 2011-12 seasons he played in 10 games, with 6 tackles.

The Chiefs also re-signed FB Toben Opurum to the practice squad. Opurum was released from the practice squad on November 19th when another offensive lineman was added to the practice squad.

More action off the practice squad could come at tight end this week.  There’s a  chance one of the practice squad tight ends – Demetrius Harris or Dominique Jones will be promoted because of the concussion suffered by TE Anthony Fasano.

Nope, after putting Commings on IR the Chiefs promoted LB Josh Martin to the active roster – so they had a PS slot open.
