Chiefs Practice Update – September 4

From the Truman Sports Complex

Right guard Jon Asamoah continues to sit out practices with the calf injury that he suffered back on August 24th in a pre-season game against Pittsburgh. He was the only player on the team’s roster that did not take part in any of Wednesday’s practice at the team’s facility.

ILB Nico Johnson tested his high ankle sprain in some linebacker drills but they sat out the other parts of practice.

The status for both players in Sunday’s regular-season opener against Jacksonville remains up in the air.

DE Allen Bailey was not present at Wednesday’s, the second workout he’s missed this week while handling a personal issue.

Also listed by the Chiefs on their injury/practice report to the league were: ILB John-Michael Johnson (groin), FS Quinten Demps (hamstring), RT Eric Fisher (shoulder), TE Travis Kelce (knee) and OL Donald Stephenson (shoulder). All five of those players were full participants in Wednesday’s work.

Down in Jacksonville, the Jaguars listed 7 players on their injury/practice report and all were limited in participation: RB Justin Forsett (toe), QB Blaine Gabbert (thumb), TE Marcedes Lewis (calf) DL Coy Miller (knee), DL Jeremy Mincy (allergic reaction), WR Stephen Burton (illness) and starting G Will Rackley (ankle).
