Chiefs Miss on Linebacker; Vikes Sign Bishop

Former Green Bay linebacker Desmond Bishop agreed to terms on Monday with the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year $1.5 million contract.

Released by the Packers earlier this month after missing all of the 2012 season due to a ruptured hamstring, Bishop had spent time talking with the Chiefs, Vikings, Giants and Jaguars.

Bishop decided to stay in the NFC North, giving him a chance to play against his old team twice in the 2013 season.

That decision keeps the focus on Akeem Jordan and Nico Johnson in the battle for the starting mike linebacker job with the Chiefs.

“Revenge is a dish that is best cold.”, well let’s see how this works out for Mr. Bishop when he returns to play in Green Bay. We probably won’t find out how much was offered by the Chiefs, but wanting to line up against his old team and make them question his release, may have been a factor. It will be interesting to see how well his hamstring has healed.
