The Chiefs reached the NFL roster limit of 75 on Tuesday morning by released WR Jamar Newsome.
Signed last season as a street free agent after stints with Jacksonville and Pittsburgh, Newsome played in the final 6 games of the 2012 schedule. He caught 5 passes for 73 yards.
Newsome’s release leaves the Chiefs with 10 wide receivers on the roster.
NFL teams will have to reach the regular-season roster limit of 53 players by 5 p.m. CDT on Friday.
