Chiefs Add Lineman

Banged up at the offensive tackle position, the Chiefs signed OT Hutch Eckerson on Thursday.

The 6-6, 310 pound Eckerson began his NFL presence in 2011 as an undrafted rookie free agent with San Diego. He was released in the pre-season and signed with New Orleans in 2012. He was released during the pre-season and signed earlier this year with Buffalo.

The Bills released the Lumberton, N.C. native on Monday. At the University of South Carolina, Eckerson played in 23 games at both left and right tackle. He was a teammate of Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop.

To make room on the 90-man roster, OT Dustin Waldron was released injured, and will likely end up on the injured-reserve list. Waldron suffered a broken kneecap in practice this week.
